SP Pivetta, Nicholas, $0.5m (P-2020)

Indians Receive
OF Phillips, Brett, $0.5m (P-n/a)
CI/MI Kieboom, Carter, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Marlins give up Kieboom (Wash #2 prospect) and Phillips to acquire a SP.

Kieboom has shown to be a top talent and could get to see some time in the majors this year but we have just 2 SP with more than 10 GS last year. So we wanted to add some depth. If Pivetta was a FA he would be the 6th Best SP avilable this year. Getting him as a P-2020 is worth losing Kieboom in our opinion. Also the small minors roster limit of 20 in the league makes it necessary to move those minor league assets to make room for other avilable players. As for Phillips, the jury is still out, but there is a lot more valuable FA players out there to fill his vacated spot.

Indians agree to trade. With a surplus of young sp I needed to fill some wholes at mi and of debth I do in aquireing Phillips and Kieboom for the near future.
