Martin Truex Jr.: Failed Post-Race Inspection

Martin Truex Jr.: NASCAR took away the starting positions of three drivers whose cars failed post-race height measurements following their Daytona 500 qualifying races Thursday. Furniture Row Racing's Truex Jr. was seventh in the first race, while JTG Daugherty Racing's Chris Buescher was 16th in that first race and Buescher teammate AJ Allmendinger was fourth in the second race -- but they all had their finishes disallowed for failing tech, ESPN.com reports.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Would Consider Retirement if He Wins Championship

Dale Earnhardt Jr.: Earnhardt Jr. said he will consider retirement ... if he wins the 2017 NASCAR Cup title. Earnhardt has never won a championship, and while he isn't considered a favorite to win the title -- he wasn't running well enough to win it at the time he stepped out of the car last year and missed the final 18 races because of a concussion -- it certainly can't be ruled out with NASCAR's unique playoff system, ESPN.com reports.
