2019 predictions
« on: December 02, 2018, 07:24:39 AM »
Proposed changes:

1. New category: "best rider without a contract" meaning the one who'd score the most in our game, but none of us trusted him enough to invest those measly €30k. (Glomser and Canto have been informed via PM that they have another 2 weeks to sign whoever they like. They are also free to keep a roster spot open for a much longer time, but once the predictions are published in 2 weeks, the named riders are off limits.)

2. The scoring of "rider with highest total score increase 2019 vs. 2018", "best rider points/€ in scrubs", and "best rider points/€ in duds", and the newly introduced "best rider without a contract" only including the riders we picked. Guessing those is very difficult, while "best rider points/€ in scrubs" is pretty much impossible - nobody ever scores there. So how about we just consider the riders some of us named in their prediction, and just award points between the top 3 within that group?

TBD. Feedback welcome. Predictions group PM coming your way in 1 week. Results announced in 2 weeks.

good proposition.
The more categories, the better.

I like it much more to predict our game, then to predict the IRL-races.

Looking forward to seeing the predictions, and how much they mirror who we've picked in our teams.

I’m glad I entered my predictions with Superman winning the Tour the day before it was confirmed he was riding the Giro, not the Tour.

Why so much hurry for publishing those predictions?
5 out of 20 didnt fill in (yet?).
The 2019-program of many top-riders is not known yet.

I agree, seems a bit silly so early. Maybe by start of TDU would be a better idea?

Maybe a sensible way of doing this would be to allow everyone to re-pick their IRL choices as it's now becoming a bit clearer which riders are riding which races. Otherwise it's a bit of a nonsense.

  • Milton: Davis is a great player, but that's an aweful lot to give away for him--3 pretty useful blokes plus an early pick this year

  • Milton: and 2 future 1st rd picks as well

  • Jonathan: I don't think the Lakers did that bad. You have to give a lot to get a top player, who is in his prime. #4 pick is good, but not quite Morant/Barrett good. My guess is Pels trade down for more assets.

  • Flash: @Daddy - I agree that the -32 for errors is something that needs to be changed.
  • Daddy: @Flash thank you. Thats the first public support for looking into "upgrading" the foundation the points leagues were built on.
