2017 midseason review
« on: May 31, 2017, 11:30:21 AM »
    New games:
    • Wall Street, the most dynamic of our leagues, enters its third independent mini-season this weekend. Some loser lucked into winning the first two.
Still a mind-blowing format IMVHO, could use 2-3 active players to shatter the internet. (Wanna join?)
    • Fine Young Cannibals is another fascinating one: we're all scoring below 200 right now, but just wait till some giants like Gaviria and co. reach their 2016 cap :taco:

    Finished games:
    • :Vlaanderen: Davy dominated Cobbled Quick Fix, special investigators still trying to get to the bottom of GVA-drafted-6th-gate
    • :Sky: Tom used the Kwiato-Albasini dynamic duo to clean up the Ardennes  :win:
    • All-Dutch success in the Giro: :Vacansoleil: Martin & Major Tom (who really did take his protein pills and put his helmet on)

    Ongoing games:
    • The main game - super close as usual!
:Lampre: with their nose ahead after Rui Costa, Kwiato, and Pozzovivo excelled this spring.
:BMC: Joel perhaps the most unfortunate, as Froomdog's obsession with one race and one race only reaches new heights...
    • :Vlaanderen: Davy and :RadioShack: myself leading the Rainbow Cup aka Yates Family Feud thus far.
    • I must admit I kinda like the Country Roads scoring being relative. Could flip-flop all the way to the last day!

Main game:

Michele :(
Roglic has been an outstanding pick for me so far, I would predict that he is in the top 3 for points / price at the moment
Need my expensive picks Mollema and Henao to score high in a few autum classics and stage races maybe, but some good middle of the road and cheap picks are doing ok for me at the moment.

Quick fix: had a couple of decent showings but giro and Ardennes was ruined by dropouts

Daniel, no need to guess, you can always see it here:

Indeed, he's 4th among non-neos, but 1st among big guns, Pozzovivo being a distant 2nd. Only CHAVANEL Sylvain, ARMEE Sander, LANGEVELD Sebastian ahead.

I lost interest as was doing so so poorly.

Right, must get back in after a slightly unexpected 2nd from Meurisse in Luxembourg.

Oh, and where is Lopez?

Duh.

That's why Wall Street is the bestest! You get feedback on your bets within hours, thus impossible to lose interest - you're dead last one minute, then on top of the world the next :disco:

Get the bunting out!

Well I don't mean to brag, but I got 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 10th in the same race in the only league that truly matters :)

UCI Worldtour: Sucks again this year. Bouhanni is crap. Everybody else knew already. Me too now. For the rest my team is doing averagely mediocre. Uran his TdF doesn't change a thing about that.

Country roads: The brilliant picks of BOOM and MALORI make me dangle in the back. If Halvorsen would wake up and start doing his job, I still could place myself in the bunch. Averagely mediocre ... Again ...

Rainbow cup: Hey there is BOOM again  >:( Still in second place. But the only way is down wise ... So let's aim for some averagely mediocre ending place.

Young Cannibals: Haaa! I declare myself as favourite nr1 to bring this trophy home. With 3 riders already scored over 100pts, and all signs are there that they will score even more, victory can't escape me. And I don't mention Zakarin who will score big in vuelta  ;D

Wall street, aka the best game ever invented: Had some difficulties to make time, so I missed all the gran tours and a lot of other races. Bettering my life now, and will fight back to get to second place when season ends. Let's be realistic. 1st place is kind of unreachable for a few months.

Agreed, but a Vuelta podium of Adam Yates, Enric Mas, and Carlos Verona will change all that!

I'll raise your Vuelta podium with Froomedog and Superman Lopez.

And of course the irreplaceable Juan Josť Lobotomy.
