2016 predictions
« on: November 11, 2015, 02:29:01 PM »
17 sets of predictions received, thanks guys :win:

In case of a tie, the one who sent theirs first gets the first draft pick, and the one who sent theirs later gets the second draft pick. Below all predictions in the order from the last to the first received. Of course you didn't know that new tie-breaker rule, so it's only fair to put mine at the top even though they had been written down before I have even sent out the original group PM. May the predictest predictor win!

Without further ado, your 2016 predictions:

:Vlaanderen: davy duck

    Fantasy UCI WorldTour

    winning team

I predict Radioshack as winner (but still thinking Topsport Vlaanderen will win :-) )

team that made the highest jump in total points scored 2016 vs. 2015 (only WorldTour 2015 teams)

Trick question with all the quiters and the teamswaps. Question is dubious though. I suppose you refer to the manager.  Let's spread chances and say Blues-Brothers (Argos)

    leading team on May 2-3

Surprise surprise: Radioshack

Best GT team (added points from GdI, TdF, VaE)

Cannondale

Best Cobbled team (added points from all spring cobbled races)

Radioshack

Best Hilly team (added points from BP, AGR, FW, LBL)

Topsport Vlaanderen

    winning rider

Froome

    leading rider on May 2-3

Van Avermaet

best rider points/€ in scrubs (40-200k salary)

So salaries of 30$ are excluded? In that case I go for  Guldhammer

best rider points/€ in duds (210k+ salary)

Wout Poels

rider with highest total score increase 2016 vs. 2015 (only those under contract in 2015)

Below, the original discussion:

I'll wait for the auctions to end of course, but we could already discuss which questions should be included. Do we keep it boring (while adding the Olympics of course), or do we add any wacky categories? Say... best geezer, best exotic rider, stage winner at Champs-Ιlysιes, or anything else really? Would you be interested? Other ideas? Post below!

Ready for a chuckle? Here are last year's questions accompanied by the unluckiest answers, subjectively speaking :P

I like most winner at Champs-Ιlysιes and best exotic rider but should clarify which nations are in that category also we have winning rider and team so why not having winning nation, something like a battle between the biggest nations as we will get the points of each rider scored in our calendar.

Personally think we should keep the predictions pretty simple, same as last year looks good with the olympics tagged on. Wouldnt wanna get too crazy as top draft pick is on it!

Most TDF stage wins could be one to add along with the Olympic RR.

I'd consider getting rid of La Vuelta as it's impossible to know who will be targeting the race at this stage.

I'd also get rid of best Neo-pro as it's too much of a lottery.

How about we exclude the big 4/5/X from the Vuelta? We can't vote Quintana, and Quintana's victory would be disregarded when scoring. Who are those X?

Well, in most races 2nd is the first loser, so I'd love to see "most wins" and "most second places".

I'd keep La Vuelta in. Agree with TER's comment.

If we were doing a most Tour stage wins, I think it should be a most GT stage wins which opens it up to more than just sprinters a little more.

I think, the more categories, the better.
It makes a little competition aside the league.
And it would give suspense, eventhough the result isn't that important.

some extra categories:
- Who takes the first yellow jersey in the tour (prestigous stage at mont saint michel)
- who wins all the races on our calender actually, why not.
- who turns first the dangerous corner of last passage of Kwaremont in Tour of flanders.
-who is first at beginning of last passage of Cauberg in Amstel Gold Race. All memorable moments in the race.
- ...

  • Jonathan: A team that wishes to remove a player from the 40-man roster and place him in the minor league system first needs to place him on irrevocable outright waivers. The team may not pull him back if another team claims the player. Other organizations have 48 hours to make a claim.  If the organization does not specify the type of waivers, this is the default.
