About Draft’n’Go
Draft’n’Go (DNG) is a simple fantasy league format.  It tests only your draft skills by preventing any moves or lineup changes after the initial draft.  DNG utilizes optimal lineups which scores the best drivers on your roster each week.  For instance, if there was one starting spot, and you had three drivers start in a week, then the driver with the highest score would be used for your fantasy team’s score.  With optimal lineups, deeper rosters allow for GMs to draft backups in case injuries occur, so the DNG format becomes a true test of a GM’s draft skills.

Draft Types
There are three types of drafts.
  • Slow Standard Draft at League Page (S) – When people sign up for the league, they vote (within a range at what the draft clock should be).  This format allows for the use of ProFSL’s scoring service which has automated slow draft features including email notifications when you are on the clock.
  • Live Standard Draft at League Page (L) – People who sign-up get to vote from a selection of dates and times for the live standard draft which is handled at the league page.
  • Slow Auction Draft at League Board (A) – The preferred way to handle slow auction drafts is through driver bid threads within a league’s transactions board here at the ProFSL forum.

This fantasy league has a draft type of Slow Standard Draft at League Page.

League Types
There are four types of leagues:
  • Redraft (R) – Most DNG leagues will test GM’s draft skills for just one season where no drivers are kept for the next season.
  • Keeper (K) – Some DNG leagues will allow for year-to-year continuation by keeping a minimum or maximum number of drivers.  Keeper rules will be specified at league board.  It is up to the league if off-season trades are allowed.
  • Salary (S) – DNG leagues can be salary-based where drivers have salaries set by the draft that may change each year.  These leagues are a variation of keeper leagues.
  • Contracts (C) – Contract leagues are popular at ProFSL, and it is a neat league type for the DNG format.  Contract-style DNG leagues will have specific rules regarding extensions, off-season trades, contract terms, and keepers.

There are no dynasty DNG leagues.  Since the only activity is within the draft, keeping all drivers prevents GMs from seeking to add new drivers.  For that reason, the closest to a dynasty DNG experience is a deep keeper league or contract league.

This fantasy league has a league type of REDRAFT.

Entry Fee
Leagues can be free or for money.  Free leagues are fun and competitive during the draft that allow for GMs to accrue points that help earn their way into the Invitationals.  Money leagues do just the same, but there is more on the line!

This fantasy league is free.

Roster Rules
Each week, the best two drivers on the roster are scored.  Each roster has four drivers

Scoring System
The league utilizes H2H-scoring at the league page, but total fantasy points are the only thing that count at the end of the season.  There is a heavy emphasis on placing inside the top 10 and winning a race, but points are also given for lower finishes and for any race a driver leads a lap.

Being a Lap Leader in the Race = 10 pts
Completing a Race = 1 pt
Placing 39th-43rd = 2 pts
Placing 35th-38th = 3 pts
Placing 31st-34th = 4 pts
Placing 27th-30th = 5 pts
Placing 23rd-26th = 6 pts
Placing 19th-22nd = 7 pts
Placing 15th-18th = 8 pts
Placing 11th-14th = 9 pts
Placing 10th = 10 pts
Placing 9th = 15 pts
Placing 8th = 20 pts
Placing 7th = 25 pts
Placing 6th = 30 pts
Placing 5th = 35 pts
Placing 4th = 40 pts
Placing 3rd = 45 pts
Placing 2nd = 50 pts
Placing 1st = 75 pts

AFB is a good league to join.  If you are active or are a finalist in the league then you will receive a decent amount of points for the 2015 MLB Invitational.

Baseball Archives / 2013 League Report
« on: January 08, 2014, 08:10:10 PM »
With 2013 closing, ProFSL has some major shakeups in how leagues stack up.  The biggest news is the fall of NFL... not fall as in autumn, but the sport's drop from 2nd to 4th most popular sport at ProFSL.  Sure, there are more leagues in NFL than NHL or NBA, but the activity isn't conducive to advanced fantasy sports like other leagues.  NHL fans have been waiting for this day for almost two years which is the last point NHL was sitting 2nd to MLB.  Baseball has a strong footprint as always.  Soccer regressed a bit with RCF failing to start, Fantrax issues with the Big 5, and Soccer Casino closing down.  ProFSL original Franchise GM falls to 4th overall.  New leagues such as Boys of Summer, The Bush League, Around the Horn, President's Trophy, and Free Market Kings make their mark in the 14th-18th spots.  NCAA has a bunch of leagues with not a lot of activity outside of a couple leagues, but they're plenty of fun and another real-life March Madness should give the sport a boost.  The landscape of the NFL changed completely with some dynasty leagues having their share of struggles, and redraft leagues in the scoring service being very successful.  NBA is a big success story thanks to Billy, Garfield, Corey, and Jon leading some great leagues.

The board layout will change for the sports and individual leagues over the next few days.  These points will be used to determine how inPoints are allocated for the 2014 MLB Invitational and any NASCAR prize league that occurs.

The following is a report on sport, category, and league statistics over the past month.  The average stats are based on board activity and are used to determine a league's inPoints for the Invitationals.  Leagues are also awarded inPoints if they are scored on the ProFSL scoring service.

About Draft’n’Go
Draft’n’Go (DNG) is a simple fantasy league format.  It tests only your draft skills by preventing any moves or lineup changes after the initial draft.  DNG utilizes optimal lineups which scores the best players on your roster each week.  For instance, if there was one starting QB spot, and you had three QBs play games in a week, then the QB with the highest score would be used for your fantasy team’s score.

  • Slow Auction Draft at League Board (A) – The preferred way to handle slow auction drafts is through player bid threads within a league’s transactions board here at the ProFSL forum.

This fantasy league has a draft type of Slow Standard Draft at League Page.

League Types
There are four types of leagues:
  • Redraft (R) – Most DNG leagues will test GM’s draft skills for just one season where no players are kept for the next season.
  • Keeper (K) – Some DNG leagues will allow for year-to-year continuation by keeping a minimum or maximum number of players.  Keeper rules will be specified at league board.  It is up to the league if off-season trades are allowed.
  • Salary (S) – DNG leagues can be salary-based where players have salaries set by the draft that may change each year.

Since the only activity is within the draft, keeping all players prevents GMs from seeking to add new players.

The Ladder / Re: App Problems
« on: January 03, 2014, 02:44:25 PM »
Anyone else having problems with the mobile app?  it has been working for the past 2 days for me on the iPhone with Verizon.

As mentioned in several mass PMs, emails, and threads, the app is no longer being supported due to how many bugs it had.  We now have a mobile-friendly site though: http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=128152.0
