Yankees trade:
Carter Kieboom (spec)
Logan Allen (spec)
Brandon Morrow $3.5 (2020)

Tigers trade:
Mike Moustakas $9m (2019) paid
Sonny Gray $5.5m (2021)

Tigers are rebuilding. Two top prospects for an expiring Moose and Gray who has been up and done helps immensely.

Title Town: MLB Transactions / Blue Jays/Yankees Trade
« on: June 13, 2019, 05:16:25 PM »
Blue Jays get:
Sam Travis (spec)
Francisco Mejia (spec)
Brendan Rogers (spec)
Adrian Houser (spec)
Manuel Margot $0.5 (p-2019)

Yankees get:
Kirby Yates $0.5 (2019)
Amir Garrett $0.5 (2019)
Xavier Edwards (spec)

Yankees are making this deal to try and push forward toward winning this year. Relief pitching was an area of weakness and we're able to get two good arms. Edwards is a guy with high upside and I have depth to wait him out.

:veto: I don't see the appeal here. We killed the first Bieber trade because Bieber is viewed as a piece of Colorado's long term future and I don't see enough here that helps long term. A couple of relievers and a shortstop who isn't anything special. Gallen is the only somewhat significant piece in this group and it's not enough for Bieber. Sorry guys

Yankees are promoting Touki Toussaint and Adrian Houser. Demoting Keston Hiura

Yankees drop: Brad Boxberger $500K and Jorge Lopez $500K

Reds confirm. We have stockpiled prospects for a rebuild and Turner is the type of piece we’re willing to cash in some chips on.

$1.0 mil

Orioles trade:
Nate Lowe 5m (2022)
Tyler O'Neill (spec)
Kyle Freeland $0.3 (p-na 2020)

Rockies trade:
Shane Bieber (spec)

Freeland has disappointed and Bieber inserts immediately as one of my top starters. Willing to deal from some depth to make the move

Orioles trade:
Matt Sauer (spec)

Rockies trade:
Hunter Pence $0.5 (2019)

Pretty simple deal here. The McCutchen injury was a big blow and I needed a stopgap. Sauer is a few years away so I'll forfeit the long term here to help short term

  • Jonathan: I don't think the Lakers did that bad. You have to give a lot to get a top player, who is in his prime. #4 pick is good, but not quite Morant/Barrett good. My guess is Pels trade down for more assets.
