Vegas has decided to reshuffle portions of our rosters we're not completely happy with. That said, we announce a trade with Montreal to acquire a package that addresses our lack of depth on the blueline.

Traded to Mordecai's MTL Canadiens
Nick Bjugstad, $2.5m (2017-2020)
Carter Rowney, $0.7m (2018-2020)

Shipped to Vegas Golden Knights
Sami Vatanen, $2.5m (2017-2020)
Fredrik Claesson, $0.9m (2017-2019)

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Re: TRADE Ottawa/Minnesota

:iatp: I prefer Forsling to Boedker given how relatively tough it is to find decent blueliners in hockey. Good trade for the Wild.

:iatp: I think Bogosian is very overrated but if you want a strong depth defender he's you guy and at a cap hit of 1.5m, that's a bargain for what he brings to the table IMO. Tolchinsky is a little bit of a head scratcher for me at least at this point in time but I can see him returning to NA and blowin' up in the new faster and smaller NHL game! If the NHL Caps move Burakovsky, he's going to post bigger point totals immediately so this is a great gamble by Ottawa.

:iatp: I like this trade because of the potential it bring each team. I think Aberg was a Free Agent pickup in the Fall and that's worked out for Ottawa and to parlay that into some additional building blocks is a smart move for the Sens here.

I estimate FNHL franchise values to be in the $135-$225 range. We will probably update the values of each franchise after the trade deadline in February-March period. Should put a smile on the faces of FNHL owners.
I'm excited to hear this. Imagine if this league was advertised or promoted in various fantasy sports circles? I found this league through a google search and credit to you owners who have made it what it is today.

Let's talk, Calgary!

Franchise NHL / Re: FNHL on what site in 2019-20?
« on: January 12, 2019, 02:00:49 PM »
Based on the tone of the note from the site owner, this site is potentially a candidate to be orphaned if it wasn't already. I'm all for moving if it means we can continue to evolve this league. Does anyone know if we can do a more comprehensive setup on Fantrax and use Google's properties to mirror the current setup of our league?

:iatp: If Johns returns this season it's a big win for Buffalo. If not, Sabres might've given up a highly rated prospect for damaged goods.

I remember Puempel badmouthed the Sens on his way out of Ottawa heading towards the Rangers. Where is Puempel nowadays? He had some decent upside as a junior player.
AHL fodder. Puempel has passed through the watchful gaze of 5-6 different NHL coaching staffs and hasn't impressed any of them to stick around the NHL. What does that tell us all?!!

  • indiansnation: No its not that its that those teams can't just go spend 30 to 40m on one player

  • kidd5jersey: If Harper and Machado don't have huge deals by opening day, I think the players should go on strike
    Today at 12:03:01 PM
  • indiansnation: Ok here u go cubs say owner said he would spend 200m this yr he is already has spent 160m. U could use another so,of and a back up catcher. Would u risk that 40m on one player or go after your 3 needs? U go after Harper he tears his knee. Can't play baseball for 2 yrs. U are know stuck paying 40m on a player u don't even have forv2 yrs. Its the money

  • kidd5jersey: Teams like the Yankees etc. have built a brand.  Those lower teams have to do the same.
  • indiansnation: There is a hard cap thresh hold where teams foot pay a penalty for going over that would take cubs past second one which would cost cubs 50m in. Fees they pay for signing him to a 30m yr contract. Look at Boston they are already past that 2nd thresh hold and have to pay 1 1/2 times what they over spent I believe its 36m on top of what the payroll is
    Today at 12:13:26 PM
  • indiansnation: U can only do that for so long

  • indiansnation: Still they pay that penalty because they are over
