I am saying a number of games as well like if we set it at 50 games then they are a UFA not a RFA if they have played more then 50 games and are under 25, this is basically to protect prospects not your best free agent. In the NHL i think it is something like 200 games so that once your 3 year entry level contract is up, your young stars can not be poached unless teams give you compensation. I would say 100 games be the limit so that our rookies from this year are protected to start.

Im not convinced it means they're cheaper.  Just protected.  Its your decision to judge value.  Maybe the numbers are a little off but I don't think so.  The equation is close to the NHL.

Ok ya I guess that works, I am in. I guess each manager can make the decision on each player. Yes let's amend this

close, his value is 5.8m per year.

Ok but according to our contracts it would have to be 4 year contract then. So currently he is on a 2.2m contract is this a justified raise for a 37 year old, I don't think anyone will sign players to extensions as it may be possible just to get players cheaper in free agency. Wouldn't signing extensions usually mean you can get the player cheaper?

One tag per team?

RFA:
Someone who would be under 25 and hasn't played a certian # of games (we would have to set a #)

Ok so possibly figured it out now, so according to fantrax for example Andrew Brunette in the past 2 years including this ones highest ranking was 16th therefore his extension would have to be at a value of $5.8m which would mean a 4 year deal at $5.8m per year or a total salary of 5.8m which would mean 3 years at 1.9m per year??

It's pretty easy.  just go to fantrax>players> and figure out your players positional ranking for the three years, then equate.  If you're extending you should be paying for the most expensive year no?  It's not the free market.

Still not getting it, how do you figure this out on fantrax?

I agree.  Lets use three values RFA A>B>C.

Anything under 500k/year requires no compensation
C = anything that would be a 2 year contract and under 2.4m = 2nd round compensation
B = anything from 2.5m to  5.4m = 1st round compensation
A = anything 5.5m to 8m = 1st and 2nd round compensation

Does that sound fair?

600k

I love the system to do it, we just need to agree on return value.  Because we're not 10 rounds deep that many picks could get crazy...

Those could always be fixed to fit our league that is just what they are using.

  • Rhino7: @Daddy, thanks for what you said lol. It was the ultimate challenge to beat JWalkerjr88 last season, I wanted my path to go through him so it makes my title run that much better! I just wanted to get to the SB and figured at that point anything can happen and lucky for me, my boys had enough left to take out BAB. Live is the most challenging league I’m in and most fun, so thanks for what you all do to make it that way.

  • Jwalkerjr88: You did well Rhino. I appreciate the battle. The loss didnt sting more because i was undefeated, i know fully that being undefeated in the reg season doesnt mean anything in the playoffs. When rhino and i played this past season, the better team won.

    Yesterday at 11:10:05 PM

  • Jwalkerjr88: If i traded all my picks to a division rival in a rebuild and he beat me in the title game with Desmond ridder or lose undefeated. Its all a loss at the end of the day

  • Daddy: It helps just to fill up your roster and sign good contracts. If you dont know crap but keep a full roster and manage finances, you will kick ass.
    Yesterday at 11:15:26 PM
  • Daddy: I wasnt a genius signing Kuechel. I was just filling an empty spot. I got rewarded with the best pitcher in baseball for a few seasons.

  • Braves155: I love it when one of your Dynasty teams you've been rebuilding starts showing up and being competitive early in the season. Especially in baseball

  • Brent: Agreed.  I'm decent at building, but I need to get better st winning.  I did win an offsite 32-team football league, it only took me 1.5 season to rebuild and win.
    Yesterday at 11:25:50 PM
  • Daddy: Thats what you should be doing @Brent. LIVE sharpens those skills so you can go elsewhere and dominate unsuspecting leagues.
