Old Powerhouse: Completed Transactions / Cubs/Orioles trade« on: January 19, 2021, 08:59:36 PM »
Cubs get:
OF Robles, Victor, $0.3m (P-2022) SS Kieboom, Carter, $0.3m (P-n/a) SP Keller, Mitch, $0.3m (P-n/a) Orioles get: OF Yelich, Christian, $9.8m (2023) 4m paid 2021, 3m paid 2022, 3m paid 2023 The Cubs are moving Yelich in order to gain some more depth. I love this deal for us. Yelich is a great player, but has had some injury history over the past few seasons. While some of them are more freak injuries it is a bit of a concern for me, especially his history with back issues. I also love what i am getting in return. I think Keller is going to be a solid pitcher this season and has a lot of potential moving forward. I like the depth that Kieboom gives me in the IF, a place where I am lacking depth. Finally, while Robles is not anywhere near what Yelich is, he still has a lot of time to improve and grow and has a pretty solid place in the Nats lineup. Overall this move allows me to add depth and 3 players with long term salary control all of whom will contribute to my team this season. thanks Baltimore! |
