With now only 18 roster minors, the A's will demote CI Rowdy Tellez P-n/a $0.5M who has yet to appear in a major league game (thank God) to open a roster spot for possible FA acquisition.

Because of the misunderstanding concerning SP Lance Lynn, the A's still will drop RP Tyler Duffy $0.5M (2018) to gain roster slot for acquisition of a FA.

On roster just remove SP Lance Lynn.

Oakland A's won waiver claim on SP Rich Hill $3.5M (2018) and the Red Sox receive CI Evan Mendoza P-n/a $0.5M and SP Cory Abbott P-n/a $0.5M.

This gives the A's another needed SP in their stretch drive.
