Dynasty NHL: Archive / Clean up roster / tanking /
« on: July 29, 2015, 12:32:21 PM »
Personally I think that this clean up should be done before the draft in order to make sure that a team has already space in his minor roster for his projected draftees

For several teams clean-up will just mean move up all their extra prospects to the main NHL in order to keep them even though there will be a big possibility that they will never play a game during the season. By doing that we could already assume that their NHL team will not be very competitive and most of the time guarantee a place in the bottom of the league.

Before the draft we should only be allowed to move up a certain number of prospects and any extra over the 12 limit back to the pool draft to allow other GMs to have the chance to repick them

During the season do we have a minimum of real NHL players required in our main roster to guarantee a so call NHL team and not a Junior team in our NHL team?

I know that it is maybe too late for this year but if that topic was never discuss it should be this year if we want a competitive league and not an already guarantee standing at the beginning of the season. This way we will be forced to manage our Minor Farm as well as managing our NHL roster.

Maybe we should have a rule that say that any (p/n-a) with no game before the NHL star game should be back in the Minor Farm and any extra player in the Farm after the move back to the FA for next year.

Maybe this should be a new topic to discuss in a separate thread?

Any comments?

Dynasty NHL: Completed Transactions / Trade Buffalo / Colorado
« on: July 22, 2015, 04:40:05 PM »
Not a big deal like Philly/Colorado

:BUF-NHL: trades

C Bo Horvat, $0.2m (P-n/a) and the 2016 :TOR-NHL: 2nd round pick acquired by :BUF-NHL:

for

:COL-NHL: 1st round pick (8th)

I have too many Centers and I need to reduce my roster for all the upcoming players from my Minors like Eichel, Morrissey etc. Horvat will probably become a good player in future years but I could afford to trade him.

Thanks Col for the quick deal and good luck with your mega deal. Pls confirms

Dynasty NHL: Completed Transactions / Trade Toronto / Buffalo
« on: July 21, 2015, 07:50:56 PM »
:BUF-NHL: trades

LW Nick Foligno, $7m (2019-2020)
:BUF-NHL: 2015 3rd round Supp Draft

for :TOR-NHL:

RW Brett Connolly, $2m (2016-2017)
D Michael Stone, $3m (2015-2016)
2015 :TOR-NHL: 1st round Supp  (6th pick)
2016 :TOR-NHL: 2nd round Supp

I know. I am trading a big asset (Foligno) but I wanted to acquire youth and save $.

Connolly, in the wake of the departures of fellow forwards Carl Soderberg and Milan Lucic this offseason, has a real shot at sliding into the team's top-six forward mix in 2015-16. He should see more ice time and finally produce to justify its selection in 2010 in 6th place. He will also help me to improve my Right wing where I was weak.

Michael Stone should be the 2nd D-man for the Coyotes and see more PP time with Yandle gone.

The 6th pick should provide me with a very good/young player. I have several players in mind with my 5 selections in the first 11 picks in Round 1 to improve my NHL and Minor roster.

The 2016 should translate I hope in a good player next year.

I am also saving $2M which which will be well spent to find a good player in the FA.

For all these reasons I am satisfied with this trade.

Thanks :TOR-NHL: for this deal. Pls confirms

Dynasty NHL: Completed Transactions / Trade Buffalo / Philadelphia
« on: June 27, 2015, 08:48:49 PM »
:BUF-NHL: trades

C/RW Sam Gagner, $3.5m (2015-2016) (2nd trade for him today - In NHL and in Dynasty)

for

:PHI-NHL:

C Chris Tierney, $0.2m (P-17/18)
LW Brendan Perlini, $0.2m (P-n/a)

I am acquiring 2 young players with a very good potential for a player who seems to have already reach his potential. I am also saving some $ to be used on FA.

THanks :PHI-NHL: for this quick deal. PLs confirms

Dynasty NHL: Completed Transactions / Trade BUffalo / Montreal
« on: June 23, 2015, 07:57:00 PM »
:BUF-NHL: trades

5th pick 1st round 2015 :BUF-NHL: from :PIT-NHL:
LW Bryan Bickell, $3.6m (2015-2016)

for :MON-NHL:

:MON-NHL: 2nd round 2016
7th pick 1st round 2015 :MON-NHL:
2M Cash this year

This trade was made to save some Cap Space and to have a pick in the 2nd round 2016 draft. I had Bickell on waiver last year so it is not a big lost for my team. With the $ saved (3.6 +2.0) I should be able to replace him in the FA draft. For the Supp draft I am just dropping by 2 which is OK.

Montreal pls confirm

Dynasty NHL: Completed Transactions / Trade Buffalo / Philadelphia
« on: June 20, 2015, 05:55:56 PM »
:BUF-NHL: is trading Aaron Ekblad and Scott Laughton

for

:PHI-NHL: 1st round Supp Draft (4th and 11th)
Samuel Morin
LW Nicklas Jensen, $0.2m (P-n/a)

I am trading Ekblad (very very tough decision) but I am receiving in exchange youth. I expect that the 4th and 11th picks will translate in very good players since all experts said that this draft will be one of the best. Samuel Morin should be a top and tough defenceman for many years with NHL PHIL club and Jensen has also a good future with Vancouver.

Ekblad is a star defenceman but I have already a good group of defencemen and Morin should be part of it in a very near future as well as Josh Morissey who is waiting on my Farm team.

Laughton will become a good NHL player but I have already a lot of young Centers and I will be adding Eichel as well next week-end

:PHI-NHL: to confirm

  • Jwalkerjr88: It was dallas. I think he missed the playoffs that year. Then used the draft picks on the 2021 class. Every pick was the 32nd pick (dont remembee what the other 1st became)
  • Jwalkerjr88: Idk if anyone remembers the 2021 class but it was weak on offense outside or the top 10-15. I dont regret the deal just learned and move on. As long as you have assets, you can mold your build how you want. Picks are usually the most valuable asset because most gms want in on a draft.
