Put simply, we're buying 25yo Mrazek on the cheap while he's playing on a weak Detroit Red Wings team plus adding a 2nd goalie in Vanecek who's part of an organization that has good goaltending player development in Washington. The prize to me might just be Maroon and the upgraded draft pick from a 2nd or a 1st rounder. Nice dealing with you PPG! :toth:

Calgary will sign Nick Ellis to a new contract because if he makes 1 appearance (likely with Talbot hitting the IR), he'll earn himself a $5 million extension.

Nick Ellis, $0.2m (2016-2018) will be extended at the league minimum for goaltenders at $1.0m (2017-2019).
