The Dallas Stars would like to promote C - Nicolas Petan (2013: 2/43) to a 2-year contract through 2018 with an AAV of $0.8m

To make room, the Stars will buyout Cory Conacher, $0.2m (2016-2018) on a full one-year buyout for $0.2m all this year.

The Stars would like to extend Taylor Hall, $6.7m (2013-2017) to a new 4-year contract through 2020 with an AAV of $6.9m

Hall was ranked as the 9th LW last year and is currently the #12 LW this season.

would like to rip-up his current contract and extend Brad Boyes, $2.4m (2014-2017) to a 2-year contract through 2018 with an AAV of $0.3m

Boyes was ranked as the 123rd RW last year and has currently played the same number of NHL games as I have this year.

John Klingberg, $2.0m (2014-2017-FP-2.7)

Jake Virtanen, $1.9m (2016-2017-EL-FP-2.5)

Klingberg plays for the Stars and Virtanen was initially a Stars draft pick.

To the Pens: Drew Miller, $0.4m (2015-2017) ... and take off LTIR

To the Coyotes: Deryk Engelland, $1.0m (2015-2017)

Very minor deal. Pens needed to shed a little salary to get under the cap before the Oct 5 deadline. Tough giving up one of the better fighters in the league (especially for a d-man), but happy to get a nice veteran 4th line grinder/hitter in return.
