Title: How pleased are you with your team?

As it says, what do you reckon so far?

Quite happy with mine, being a bit late into the game. 3 preety strong riders, Tony Martin, Rui Costa and Tejay. Two of them overpaid though. No problem with Costa, fanboy stuff. Tejay can be the rider to dump next year but I can see him hitting 1500~1600p what would make him a good pick. For the rest, big question marks on Phinney and Ulissi but, as Ulissi's expected suspension shall not be more that 1 yr lenght, both of them could be great assets for the 2016's season. Very happy with Juanjo Lobato and Jesus Herrada on board too. Fuglsang can do a bit better this year and next one go for another team leadership, something like IAM. The lot of Pro Conti guys I have are quite unpredictable. All in all, not a team to go ftw this year but I think a good bulding block for 2016.

I'm in the same boat as you I think. Great building block for 2016 and possibly a decent outcome this year as well. Don't really feel I've overpaid for anyone if you allow for 2016 too. Overall pretty pleased, just hope my youngsters can perform as well or better than last year.

Mind you next year I'm going to be bidding in the bargain bucket having spent 2/3 of my money already.

Just looked at your squad and I think you've got a few bargains in there - Herrada, Zakarin, Bole, Prades, Simon, Pellizotti and Gatto are good buys. Not sure about Ulissi and Cuddles tho!

Was sorry to lose both Gatto and Terpstra as both did well for me last year.

This year I went in hoping to retain as many of my high-scoring riders as possible while getting a hold of a solid GT candidate - something my team has lacked the last two seasons. So overall, I'm happy with my small team - I have Nibali (and perhaps Majka) for the GTs, Vanmarcke for the Classics and one-day races and I also retained The Gorilla for sprints as well as added some other good sprinters. So I followed my strategy and, by and large, got the team I wanted.

My only concern is how lean the team is - I'll probably top off at 21 riders - so I'm banking on bang for the buck. Could work out great or be a total disaster - but I hope to improve on my previous mid-pack finishes with this group. We'll see.

Strong team but small as you say. You could do with getting 2 in for your remaining money surely??

Or, dare I say it, sacrificing someone and buying 7 or 8 with the proceeds!
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: LostViking on December 02, 2014, 01:45:11 PM
Yeah would be nice with two more riders - but my strategy was to lose most of those small fry who produced no or very few points and instead invest heavily in riders that might actually win something. It's a risky strategy as most would argue for a larger team giving you more chances to score points, but if the points are minor - it makes little difference in the big picture.

But like I said earlier, this could easily backfire - then I'll have to drop or trade some big ticket items for 2016 and try out the buck-shot strategy - get 30 cheap riders and hope that they score some lucky wins.
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: Joelsim on December 02, 2014, 01:50:14 PM
I dunno, there are definitely some $30k riders who are capable of getting 200+ points. Most have gone but there are some good young uns around still. I have 4 or 5 on my list should people keep outbidding me.

Would 7 or 8 small purchases outscore Trentin? Difficult to say for sure.

Too early for me (or other 2014 top scorers) to post here or in the predictions thread. Still a lot of riders out there...

The only conclusion thus far: I shouldn't have touched Kwiato. I got too excited and ignored by golden fantasy/betting rule: always going against personal favourites. This way either they win and you're happy, or they don't but you score points/cash. So then I went and got the stupid dopehead Ponzi to bring back some balance :P

Also interesting to see that there are only 4 or 5 teams with decent budgets for 2016. Everyone else has gone large for 2 years, with most of the big boys taken for 2 or 3 years.

Are you serious? Kwia is a great buy, the boy has a huge future and could become one of the best Classics and week stage racers around. He is Sagan's equal in talent I reckon. I'd have him at that price in an instant! He can sprint, he can TT, he can climb...

Or he could be a one-shot wonder.

Cycling is littered with stories about riders who went large for one season and then disappeared into the peloton for the rest of their careers.

Nah, I can't see it. Love watching him but he needs to forget GC on GTs and concentrate on early season.

They are both pretty talented. $880 vs £1230 too.

Only regret - would've like a rider each from Topsport and IAM, plus an extra MTN guy. I've gone a bit Sky/Quickstep heavy.  :o

Cycling World says the UCI will deny Astana a WT license - if true Nibs and Aru are toast this year - even if they wanted to jump ship to another team, who would have the green to make it happen? Ugh!

It won't happen. They are off the list today, a warning shot, and I'm sure they will be back on it next week, perhaps with a final warning of one more and you're out.

Also, IMVHO it's completely irrelevant. Every major race organizer would give them the wild card if only they applied, right?

Team complete now, which allows me to answer the question
I guess I did ok, mostly disappointed with Wiggo (didn't read the news), Ponzi (a crisis on the Italian front made me reach for a doper), and Mollema (thanks to increased activity and know-how around the league needed to ignore my rule of thumb where I only offer contracts that riders should double-outscore, and he can't possibly pull off a 1320 season). Really happy with David Lopez and good ol' Sylvain tho :disco:
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: Joelsim on December 30, 2014, 11:02:16 AM
Mollema will do ok but you are right, he isn't good enough for over 1,000.

I'm really pleased with my team on paper, just hope they aren't all racing San Luis, Algarve and Ruta del Sol. D'oh, I should have checked the spreadsheet instead of assuming all these were in there. Oh well.

Particularly pleased with Tschopp  :DL:

You will be up there at the ending barring injury disasters. Your team is definitely one of the strongest on paper IMO. I actually had you down to win it on my predictor before I changed it to myself, stupidly.

Not so happy with mine.  I have some decent riders but misjudged some auctions/work getting in the way so I missed out on few riders i'd have liked  and have the money left over to have got a couple of them.

Looking again at my team, I'm happy with a few bargains (including Uran at €550) but there are definitely a few duds in there as well.

Coquard is a big question mark now Europcar are out of WT. €360 p.a. is a lot for him, but having him for two seasons might pay off.

I was happy to secure Gougeard, but €100 may be a little over the odds. I have a tendency to sign riders I like rather than those who will score me a lot of points... I'll enjoy following oddball picks like Goss at MTN and Cunego at Nippo though.

Well, what I need is Purito to find his 2013 -form and Barguil to take a next step, if possible. Also I'm lacking of real sprinters. Nizzolo can win some for sure, but the 2nd best sprinter I've got is Pellucchi

Ended up mid-pack again despite a much smaller team. The Gorilla got of to a slow start or I think I might have done a smidge better than last. Vanmarcke let me down.

I've definitely paid over the odds for a couple of my guys. Also there are at least two riders who I probably shouldn't have signed. But that's all part of the fun, eh?

I have high hopes for Thomas De Gendt, who I think is due a big year and was a relative bargain for 100k. Also hoping Von Hoff and Goss are rejuvenated at One Pro Cycling and get some decent placings. Uran is my most expensive GC guy and last year he did well for me points-wise. Hoping he'll have another strong Giro (though unlikely to beat Nibali, he's a strong podium contender).

And of course GVA getting the Flanders-Roubaix double would be a big help too...

I have one of the weakest teams for sure and not too much money to spent anymore. So I guess I will finish last again... But the team is stronger than last season...

Well FDJ have a full roster of 30 riders.

I have 23 and a little cash left, which means 24 at least.

Well I have 110k left and all of it is currently on Le Bon.

So I either get him or I have 110k to spend on up to 3 others.

No lose, I'll be happy either way with that.

28 riders with two more coming (I hope). A 30 man team which was one of my goals. 17 countries. Four from the USA, which is probably not good. No BIG names on this team (perhaps Talansky), but some guys I like. Highest ranked rider is #82, I have 9 riders ranked in the top 150, and another 10 riders ranked between 150 and 230. 25 of my riders are 30 or younger. 20 Riders are on WT teams, 10 are on PCT teams.

Sound like I am trying to convince myself I have a good team, we will see. Expect I will finish in the lower half this year. Not really happy with my performance in the draft. Finished with too much money, and am missing a top 50 rider on my team. Learned a lot!!!

Looking forward to the season, to see how it all works out!

I've got a couple of big names

LOPEZ MORENO Miguel Angel
BETANCUR GOMEZ Carlos Alberto

And a couple of small names

HIRT Jan
FROOME Chris

Albeit it's a medium sized name if you call him Christopher.

Preety happy with mine. Three big riders in Stybar, Landa and Gallopin should score well and form a decent base on three different terrains. Amador on 270k per year is a bargain as well, considering he finished 4th in the Giro!

Should maybe have got more than 22 riders though, will be interesting to see if the 22 have enough quality to outscore the 30 riders present in some other teams.

You've got some good riders. I wouldn't worry about not having 30 riders, some of my cheapies last year scored almost nothing, literally nothing.

My team's leaders (Boom, Roelandts, Gesink, VDB2) from last year are all still under contract this year. Last year they were a bit unlucky; this year will be better. I got some great domestiques (Velits, Sanchez, Bodnar) in support and a proper fast sprinter (Pelucchi). The best bit is I got the master of the failed but spirited long range attack: Amets Txurruka! :disco:

What you think of my Europcar Squad?

I had to build a complete new team as my team is new in the World Tour for 2016.

Leaders: M. Matthews and R. Majka (both should be able to land in the top 25)

Guys like  S. Kruijswijck, S. Bennett, J. Dombrowski, D. Impey, M. Brändle should be able to add some solid points.

And the rest can hopefully support a bit:
A. Hansen, S. Reichenbach, Y. Martinez, B. Kadri, J. Janse van Rensburg, R. Janse van Rensburg, M. Wyss, D. Nerz, M. Burghardt, S. Pardilla, E. Cappechi, E. Battaglin, E. Buchmann, N. Politt (neo pro), C. Laporte, P. Martens, L. DePlus (neo pro).
Some of them could be good for a surprise. I believe in Buchmann for example. But also think that Nerz, Reichenbach and Battaglin will have a better season. But we will see.

Plus 200k to spend for 3-4 more depth guys so I will have around 28 riders at the end.

But sure where I stand in the league, but hope I can fight for a spot in the first half.

Also building a new team and I'm very happy with it
Leaders should be Gilbert,Bardet and Felline
Co-Leaders:Visconti,Wallays and maybe Arndt
Others I expect good performance are McCarthy,Polanc,Rowe,Atapuma,Norris and maybe Barbero
It's interesting that I have 5 riders from Belgium and 5 from England, the other big nations are not so well represented 2 from France,2 from Italy,2 from Spain and no one from Netherlands

Not sure what to make of my team, dont think matching my 5th place will happen

Leaders id say are: Pinot, Chaves, Rolland, Martin

Sprinters: Viviani, Guardini, Reijnen

All-round: Boonen, Swift, Albasini, Simon

TT: Dennis

Unknown: Haig, Lunke, Skjerping, Golas, Prades, Castejins

Big year for Pinot, I reckon.

Yh it shouldn't be hard for swift to have a better year to be honest. I think my team has a decent balance. it lacked a cobbled classics guy so hoping boonen is fit, and if so could be bargain of the year.

The problem is will Martin and Rolland replace the holes left by Landa and Trofimov (bearing in mind i had them for 210k and 130k) as well as loosing Moreno. Thats a whole lot of points so I cant see it to be honest.

My filler guys are also less strong in my opinion.

Id say top 10 would be an achievement with my team

as its already gonna be down at a squad of around 21 riders

Leaders id say are: Froome, Lopez Moreno, Formolo, Taaramae, Caruso, Fernandez, Meintjes, Sepulveda, Hirt, Zardini

Sprinters: Mareczko, Marini, Van Genechten

All-round: Valgren, Betancur, Gougeard, Dillier, Paterski, Kung, Martin, Waeytens

TT:

Unknown: Bernard, Contreras

Compared to last year I think my team is a bit stronger. I certainly have more one-day potential in theory but that does depend a lot on Betancur's level of motivation.

I'm very keen to see some progress from Valgren and Dillier, and I think I have a potential future superstar in Kung. Paterski should also perform is some of the Classics.

For the mountains Froome obviously, Caruso should lead the Giro for BMC, Meintjes looked good last year, Formolo has talent, as do Fernandez, Sepulveda and Taaramae. Hirt too showed some good riding last year. I also spent big on Lopez Moreno because he was injured for several months last year and yet still looked very strong on his mid-season return.

I've got a very young team in essence, so probably some good and bad. Average age 24.3.

I think Vacansoleil is already record braeking. I guess I'm the first team who has a developing team. I'm also the first team with only 29 riders as a max. And I'm the first team who paid a salary of 30k for a pass at the neo draft.

I'm now certain that I'll finish last. I'm happy to participate in other leagues so this one can be in a rest modus already...

I did pay for a pass, but my pass is called Consonni. Tought he would start this season for Lampre, but that seems to be next season. So I have a rider for a developing team, who doesn't ride any of the races that we are riding... I call that a pass... And therefore a team with a maximum of 29 riders...

Thirty fine young (and young-ish) fellows line up for the rebooted IAM Cycling Team.

The classics squad is ably led by Mr Second Place himself, GVA. Support comes from Guillaume Van Keirsbulck and Dylan Teuns.

GC leader is Rigoberto Uran, with a very strong pair of Colombian lieutenants in Arredondo and Duque, plus old hands Lagutin and Kiserlovski. Ilnur Zakarin is the young dopeful, er, I mean hopeful. Poels and Nieve take a break from the Death Star to lend a hand too.

And in the sprints we have... Matthew Harley Goss - points machine! And Bryan Coquard, I suppose.

Random blokes who might do OK - Mohoric, Grmay, Blythe, De Maar and Von Hoff.
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?

I found 1 more classics guy, it is the mythical Aleksejs Saramotins  he scored moderately well in the cobbled classics in the past few years (read: more than just 5 "props for finishing" points in each race).

Euskaltel's full team roster for 2016 consists of 28 guys

First row: Pibernik, Mas, Craddock, Gaviria, Pires, Drucker, Meersman
Second row: Boaro, Ruffoni, Van der Sande, Laengen, Zilioli, Villella, Gatto
Third row: Demare, Kennaugh, Contador, Bettiol, Saramotins, Rosa, Conti
Fourth row: Kreder, Sbaragli, Walscheid, Thurau, De la Cruz, Zaugg, Ratto

15 different nationalities, with 10 Italians, 3 Spaniards, 2 Germans and 2 Belgians.

My "big names" are Contador and Demare. Demare had a mediocre season this year, but he is still young and should bounce back in 2016. I hope Rosa and Sbaragli can continue their progression, if they do they should also score very well. Other riders I am counting on are Meersman, Drucker and also Gaviria.
Besides those riders, I also picked plenty of talents who already had some promising results and could take another step next year (Bettiol, Villella, Ruffoni, Pibernik, Zilioli, Conti, Kreder and De la Cruz) and riders who are switching teams, which should present them with more scoring opportunities (Craddock, Ratto, Pires, Zaugg and Thurau)

Others:
Laengen rode for Team Joker this year and had some good results in the Norwegian 2.HC races, he will ride for IAM next year. I am not sure what to expect though. He isn't super young anymore (26, 27 at the start of next year) but at least he should ride more .HC and .WT races next year, and he clearly has the potential to score.

Walscheid, my 2nd neo, I believe he is a sprinter but I don't know much more about him. I hope he will get opportunities to score and won't just be part of Degenkolb's sprint train.

Mas scored well in some .HC races he raced this year, for example he scored 63 points in Tour of Turkey and 12 in GP Nobili. I would be really happy just with similar scores next year, because he only cost me $30k :win: but maybe he can do even better.

Saramotins, like I said in the General Discussion thread, I wanted my last rider to be someone with potential to score in classics because I really felt I was lacking in that department. Saramotins finished 13th in Paris-Roubaix this year, hopefully he can do something similar next year :rool:

Van der Sande has been "pretty good" for a while now with lots of top-10s in sprints. He hasn't had a real breakthrough yet, though.

Boaro is one of my personal favorites, he always impresses me with his huge strength and he is so likeable, I wish him all the best next year :toast:

Kennaugh scored well last year but wasn't as good this year. I'm hoping he can score like in 2014 again next season :win: he is a bit of a tool though

Gatto is also one of my favorites, he is a good punchy sprinter and also good on cobbles, next year he will ride for Tinkoff, with Sagan, just like in the good old Cannondale days. :toast:

Overall, I really like my team, there's a lot of riders I really like, and others I think will be interesting to cheer for. Not sure what I can expect performance-wise, but I'm hoping for a top-10 finish :judge:

BMC welcome Jeremy Maison to their team for 2016.

As Espoirs Central said.

Maison has some prodigious climbing talent that will see him fit in with Thibaut Pinot, Alexander Geniez and Kenny Elissonde. On Plateau de Beille, Maison rode away from Simone Petilli and Laurens De Plus and won by an astounding minute to secure 3rd overall. He put together a consistent Pays de Savoie that saw him finish in 4th overall and he was well on his way to some stage glory in the Tour de l'Avenir on stage 5 of the race to La Rosiere but proceeded to crash out of the race. In any case, Maison could be showing himself, especially in some smaller French races that feature climbing.

I had a similar problem with all the cobbled classics, only Demare, Gatto and Drucker could realistically score in those races. I suppose some of my younger dudes could turn out to be great cobble talents, but just in case I threw some money at Big Björn who should have a better racing program at Wanty, and Saramotins. Still not great, but better than just those 3 I listed above.

Team Topsport Vlaanderen is complete!
The team is very pleased to announce that they will attack the 2016-season with 30 riders.
As this team collected 9556pts in 2015, and the management expects some youngsters to make progress it's clear that the ambition of the team must be high! The managers aims for the podium. "Eventhough we are newbies in the Worldtour, and we suffer from economical inflation, we are very optimistic" the manager said.
"We are also happy and proud that we sticked to our values, and that we could build a team around a Belgian core".

The Leaders of the team are:
Cavendish, Moreno, Bakelants, BoHagen, Hermans, and off course world-champion time-trial Kiriyenka.
"With these men we will be in the front of the peloton on every terrain. We are armed for every kind of race: From sprints, over time-trial to mountains, and from cobbles-classics to climbing-classics. Top off the bill would be the world championship with Mark Cavendish off course, and why not an olympic medal for Daniel Moreno". Vasil Kiriyenka will defenitely be motivated to show his rainbow-jersey, and he hopes to keep it a year longer.

The Experienced lieutenants:
De Clercq - Hesjedal - Caruso - Bookwalter - Cunego - Gasparatto
Our lieutenants are all guys who can ride a decent GC in several small tours, but also they could aim for top-10 in one of the grand tours.

The young-ones:
De Bie - Bennett - Haas - verona - Sprengers - Kuznetsov - Broeckx - Baska
These youngsters have the potential of progressing a lot since last year. We really hope Bennett gets back on the good track after his problems last year. Our neo pro baska can easily evolve, we lay no pressure on him. They all could surprise in a race you won't expect it. I'm very looking forward ...

The gregario's:
Moinard - Silin - Nocentini - Devolder - Wyss - Van Emden - Bak - Guarnieri - Sergent
These men will give their lives for our team leaders! And after they have done their work, they even have the potential to score little points. Let's hope Devolder finds back his tour of flanders legs from a few years ago. Sergent is very motivated to come back after his severe crash last season.

Topsport Vlaanderen is ready!  :koolaid:

Young prodigy Logan Owen joins BMC from Axeon. Saw this boy in the US races last year and was very impressed. Obviously he isn't going to score much as he will only be in a max of 3 stage races plus maybe the Olympics/Worlds if I'm very lucky. 10 year champion of the US Cyclocross title for his age group too, a proper talent.

I tweeted him about what he was doing next year and he replied that he's staying with the merged Axeon Hagens Berman team. Chapeau.

Vacansoleil has gis team compleet. The leaders of the team will be Richie Porte for the GC and Nacer Bouhanni for the sprint.

Furthermore the team has some classics riders in Bresschel, SamSan and Stannard.

Good subleaders are Spilak and Zubeldia at the GC aand Bole for the sprint.

Time trialists are SamSan (again) and Castroviejo

Riders with a free role are Elisonde, Fraile, Lindeman and Zoidl

The youngsters are Bauhaus, Combaud, Gogl, Grossschartner, Konrad, Markus, Senni, Van Gestel and Zabel

For Busato, Canty, Jones, Lammertink, Lindeman, Matzka and Stenuit the role to surprise me.

Consonni will hopefully join the team at the end of the season...

Cannondale has finalised its roster for the 2016 season, with 29 riders signed up.

Leading the team and looking for his second GT win will be Fabio Aru.

Aru will be ably supported in the mountains by Alexis Vulliermoz, Joaquim Rodriguez, Tom Jelte Slagter and Wilco Kelderman who will all be looking for success in their own right.

In the sprints we will have the youthful line up of Niccolo Bonifazio and Moreno Hofland, with Leigh Howard also looking to relaunch his career.

Aiming for success as they reach their prime we have Rodolfo Torres, Enrico Barbin, Michael Schar, Rudiger Selig, Michael Van Staeyen, Ilia Koshevoy, Salvatore Puccio, Moreno Moser and Baptiste Planckaert.

The young guns Simone Velasco, Clement Venturini, Lukasz Wisniowski, Odd Christian Eiking, Louis Vervaeke, Dion Smith, Daniel Martinez, Lars Van Der Haar, Victor Campenaerts, Amaury Capiot and Floris De Tier will look for success in a wide range of terrains.

And finally the captain on the road and granddad of my team is Paulo Tirralongo.

Can't wait for the season to begin now...

:winner: :Lampre: Team Lampre-Merida is also ready for 2016! :Lampre: :winner:

As for the leaders, Lampre trusts in 2013 WC Rui Costa, USA GC star Tejay Van Garderen and the multiple TT WC Tony Martin. All of our three leaders are trying to find their best form. Costa is aiming to add a medal at Rio Games and his first GT GC success to his good performance over the years in Classics and 1 week GC races. Tejay showed great form in 2015 that didn't match his results, and will aim to put bad luck behind. Tony Martin wants very badly his TT nº1 status back in a year where the Olympic Games are a big extra motivation.

As lieutenants, Roman Kreuziger, as Diego Ulissi and Taylor Phinney, had all of them two hard years in 2014 and 2015. This is the first tranquil pre-season for Lampre's trio in three years, and this can signify a good year for them. Fuglsand is one solid lieutenant, and J-C Peraud is Lampre's captain, and as an olympic medalist late starter in road cycling he will find the motivation to put those years back and pull a great Giro  and memorable outputs at the late season.

Our leaders have a solid set of gregarios that can deliver some results for themselves: the fast Vichot, M. Renshaw, D. Vigano and D. Bennati, as the loyal Losada, J. Moreno, I. Keisse, A. Cardodo, A. Howes, J. Rosskopf, A. Timmer, S. Clement, and J. Mendes.

Young talent have their place too. :Lampre: is going to nurture the talents of Loïc Vliegen, J. Sütterlin, D. Howson, G. van Hoecke, E. Ravasi, E. Grosu and E. Shalunov.

The joker is J. Gonçalves. The one who broke all the records in VO2Max tests at Portuguese Cycling Federation, outputting the likes of Rui Costa, T. Machado or N. Oliveira, has started to show some results at WT level in 2015 via pure strenght, and shall create some damage in 2016!

:soapbox: BMC Racing Team has also finalised its roster for 2016.

Chris Froome will be overall leader, the two-time winner of The Tour has pedigree and a strong team behind him.

Helping him in the mountains will be young Colombian prodigy and Avenir winner Lopez Moreno, who is expected to be a future Tour contender himself. Leaders for other stage races include the newly motivated Carlos Betancur, Davide Formolo, Road Captain Rein Taaramae, Ruben Fernandez, Louis Meintjes and Eduardo Sepulveda.

Betancur also promises to be present in the Hilly Classics and will be joined by Michael Valgren, Alexis Gougeard, Zico Waeytens, Maciej Paterski and Silvan Dillier, the latter hoping to come of age in 2016.

For the sprints, not the priority of BMC this year are wonderkid Jakub Mareczko, young sensations Nicolas Marini, Logan Owen and Marc Sarreau, along with the experienced Jonas Van Genechten.

There's plenty of youth in the BMC squad this year as you can see from above, and added to these are talents such as Stefan Kung who will hope to build on a stunning yet injury-hit 2015, Johan Le Bon, Edoardo Zardini, Jan Hirt and Ruben Zepuntke, as well as Neo-Pros Julien Bernard who showed himself well as a stagiare, Guillame Martin who won the LBL U23 last year, Rodrigo Contreras who gave Quintana a run in San Luis and prodigious climber Jeremy Maison.

DS Simister was cautious yet confident ahead of the new season "I've put together a very talented bunch of riders for almost all terrains and I intend to give them all a chance to shine. This could be our year".

This year everybody is Belgian, or doped, or 87 years old, or rides for a small team. So we might as well contend

Wheeling & dealing complete. Money spent. 29 on the roster.

Swapping Cav and Caruso for Gougeard, Taaramae, Bernard, Zepuntke, Marini, Maison, Owen, Roosen, Carbel, Restrepo and a contribution to Le Bon...only time will tell whether that was wise.

Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: TERatcliffe26 on December 03, 2015, 12:20:34 PM
If Caruso fires, then Id say maybe break evenish

Cav to score 1000 + and Caruso firing gets maybe 6/700. bernard maybe 300, Gougeard about the same as last season at 500, Taaramae again maybe 300ish. I think the others will average at most a 100 each. Cant see Owen breaking 50 points that count towards the game, same for Roosen, same with a few others that are abit unknown. I think zep will struggle too now they have Wippert

We shall see tho

Post by: Joelsim on December 03, 2015, 12:30:33 PM
Yep you may be right, but it only takes one to do a Benoot! I think Taaramae will score way more than 300 and I have higher hopes for Maison, Marini and Roosen.
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: TERatcliffe26 on December 03, 2015, 01:02:33 PM
Im not sure on Taaramae, and I guess what im gonna say now can go for alot of riders, but you have swapped 2 riders that will rider .HC and WT races for riders that may not, and thats the problem I guess. Your riders over the season will outscore those two, but will they rider enough of the races we cover. No good them winning .1 or .2 races if they dont race the ones they need
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: Joelsim on December 03, 2015, 01:11:42 PM
I appreciate that but many of them only need one good result to double their money so to speak. Cav and Caruso only scored 1005 between them last season.
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: TERatcliffe26 on December 03, 2015, 01:31:16 PM
True true, certain a couple of them will be cost effective, and it all depends on how Cav and Caruso perform, both underperformed last year. Pretty certain Cav will improve, what Caruso does will influence whether in was a good or bad decision

My report card is simple.

Pinot has carried my team again, Swifthas chipped in well.

Not really anything from others, big Ardennes for Martin and Alba

Viv and Guard go missing in the big races, and the risk of Boonen hasn't paid off.

Need to rebuild next season, but wont have much cash again and loose even more big riders
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: glomser on April 10, 2016, 08:17:01 AM
My mid card report:

I have two riders making a lot of points points. Both Porte as Bouhanni are able to keep on scoring. I know the first part of the season is Porte's best part, but I have hopes for the rest of this season.

Samsan did very well in Catalunya and is therefore my thirdbest rider. Stanard just did OK and I hope he will be able to do a little bit better in the other classics.

I'm also confident with Spilak. His races are still to come. Doing better as expected I'm happy with Canty. And Bole is doing OK too.

I'm also OK with Zabel, Konrad and Busato who all score decently.

With double figures we see Jones, Lindeman, Zubeldia, Matzka, Gogl and Bauhaus. For some OK, but I had expected more from Zubeldia and Bauhaus.

Senni has already points scored, where I didn't know what to expect. He was more for the end of the season.  Breschel also scored some points, but this part is his part and I expected at least factor10 in points of him, so he's a disappointment. The same about Zoidl, but the better races for him will come so I think he still can reach a decent season. The points of Grossschartner are OK. He's young so I didn't know what to expect.

Castroviejo got injured and therefore could score. I hope he will recover and will still get his points. Combaud and Van Gestel didn't start till now, but I don't expect too much. Also Ellisonde didn't start till now, but his races will come and I have my hopes on him for some races.

Fraile, Lammertink and Markus didn't start that often, but I hope they will grab some points. Markus just need to get his spirnt right and Fraile needs more races with mountains to get his points.

Stenuit did had enough starts, but he's young and I had no expectations, so this could happen.

Leaves me with Power and Consonni. My neo-picks aren't competing this season at any of the races that count so they're technically non-riders in my team.

MTN 14th from 21 teams at the mid season

Top riders($300+):
Gilbert-not a lot of points but with the Ardennes to come hope to score much more points
Bardet-my top scorer so far, still a lot of points to come from him
Felline-same as Gilbert slow start but expect to start scoring more and more

Average guys($160-$290)
Arndt-most of the point he score last year was after TDF so should wait him
Atapuma-only 10pts not the best he can
Vermote-only 17pts from the cobbles not good at all
Boswell-waiting for Tour of California to see what he can do
Rowe-impressive so far
Barbero-show nice sprint skills and could score a lot of points in VaE
Polanc-his season is just starting
McCarthy-nice TdU at the start of the year, already score more than last year so any other points will be bonus for me
Morkov-same as McCarthy any other point will be bonus
Wallays-much weaker than last year, not good enough
Norris-score most of his points in Lankgawi which is not in the calendar

Outsiders($0-$100):
Hart(draft)-0point so far, doing well in the youth races
Peters(draft)-same as Hart
Serry-good performance in the small french races which are not in the calendar
Maes-good helper for Etixx leaders but nothing more
Thwaites-the best from the outsiders, some nice results so far
Chevrier-just filling my team
Devenyns-expected a bit more points in the cobbles classics
Chirico,Offredo,Diaz-not a lot of racing for these 3

I guess I'll do a report card as well :judge:

$210k+
$1050k Contador doing really well so far :win: 833 points
$720k Demare Nice win in MSR, a shame he crashed in the Ronde and missed P-R because of that crash. He could have done well, I think. Still, 443 points :toast:
$550k Rosa disappointing early season but a great showing in Pais Vasco. 107 points.
$300k Sbaragli only 5 points so far, really bad! :(
$290k Drucker 117 points. Quite happy with that.
$260k Meersman 27 points. Poop! :rool:
$210k Gatto 84 points, had hoped for more in the classics. But okay-ish.

$100k-$200k
$170k Kennaugh Thanks to the Cadel race a good pick, 188 points
$150k Boaro 25 points, not good. But I still have high hopes :bla:
$150k Van der Sande 29 points, had some good showings but it's not transferring into many points (yet).
$130k Ruffoni Crap. Scored nothing yet. But I love little Ruffo :toth:
$130k Craddock 183 points. Very nice! Breakout year :toast:

$50k-$90k
$90k Conti 33 points. Okay-ish. There are still some Italian 1-day races he can score in
$90k De la Cruz Same as Conti, just "okay", 36 points.
$90k Villella 51 points, only slightly more than Conti and De la Cruz for the same price, but he showed some good things
$90k Bettiol I am still waiting for the breakthrough. Some good performances but not many points. Still time but it's more likely to happen next year :judge:
$80k Ratto 0 points. Not good! There are still some chances for him in the Italian fall races but disappointing nonetheless
$60k Zaugg 5 points, disappointing, I hoped he could get some anonymous top-20s in WT stage races.
$50k Zilioli Scored nothing so far, in Trentino next week he could score. Fingers crossed.
$50k Pibernik Not too bad, 25 points.

<$50k
$40k Saramotins Thanks to a brilliant performance in Roubaix already a great pick, 133 points
$40k Laengen 20 points, just okay, he was a gamble anyway, coming from Conti level
$40k R. Kreder Decent so far, 40 points, hope he keeps it up
$40k Pires 12 points, I had hoped for more but he is old of course.
$40k Thurau I was counting on him scoring in the cobbled classics which should suit him, but he only scored 15 so I am not too happy.
$30k Gaviria One of my neo-pro's, really happy with him, 169 points :win:
$30k Walscheid My other neo, but he got caught up in the Giant training accident, Haig seemed worst off but Walscheid is the only one who still hasn't been able to return to racing.
$30k Mas Just 5 points, but he will win a stage in La Vuelta so no worries :toast: :toast:

Overall, after today, I am still first :taco: :win: :bacon: :winner: :winner: :toth:  :bump: something I would have never expected, but I don't have many riders for the Ardennes, basically Rosa has to step up big time. :judge: Alberto will not race again until the Dauphiné, so I expect to drop some places in the mean time, but still I am super happy with my team  :win:

Looking strong Flo. Orica & Argos are lurking too.

Just to put your points into context my highest scoring rider is now Valgren with 147!  :o

Although Dillier and Fernandez have also just about broken 100 points too.

Nice couple of weeks for Alba!

Pinot dragging me along nicely

Just need Chaves and Viv to show up at the Giro (only 4 riders, Pirazzi who could go well and Castelijns my others)

Pretty sure I should end up with a decent team at the tour. D Martin, Pinot, Dennis, Rolland, Simon, Alba (maybe), Swift (maybe), Boonen (maybe),

Maurits Lammertink won Luxemburg. Very pleased he's finally showing his abilities... He's very happy, but had only spare time to celebrate as Swiss is coming and he wants to try to win a stage there...

For someone who cost me €90 he's doing more than well...

Last year, my first draft was not good. Used bad data and, overpaid for riders, and finished with too much money. Changed my data used to draft, got aggressive early. Like my pick ups of PINOT, WELLENS and ELISSONDE. Looking for good years from rollovers GROENEWEGEN, KONIG, and MOSCON. Like my NeoPro's ACKERMANN and MATHIS. This year barring injuries and with a little luck I should finish in the middle of the pack. I hope to compete in 2018.

Roosen - only 23 but part of the TTT of lotto.nl that was 5th in the Worlds this year and just behind bmc and etixx in the eneco tour.

Keizer - Back when he was riding for vacansoleil this guy would go on crazy breakaways, so now that Tjallingii has retired I hope lotto.nl will put him on breakaway duty a few times and maybe gather a jersey somewhere. Also beat Tom Dumoulin and Wilco Kelderman in the U23 dutch TT championship.

Clement - consistent Rider; shows very little degredation during grand tours as was shown this last tour where he crept into the top 20 in the last week and finished 7th in the mountain jersey ranking. Hopefully lotto.nl will go for stage wins in the tour this year with gesink and clement and don't serve stef up as domestique.

Leezer - I almost went nuts when Leezer escaped during the final km's during this year's worlds. He pulled up short, but I hope Lotto.nl recognize he can ride for himself too.

Boom - Let's forget 2016 (6th at E3, seriously that's it). I am going all in for this guy's innate talent. Let's hope he trains his ass off this winter and give us some good performances in the spring classics as sole leader of lotto.nl.

Oomen - only 21 and finished 26th in Liege this year. Also won l'ain. Much talent. Very wow.

Van Baarle - I don't really understand what (real) cannondale (honestly, is there a rider that has improved at this team?) wants him to do, but I just want him to excel in the classics, like finishing 6th in the Ronde. Hopefully, he can benefit from some tactical 1-2 punches with Vanmarcke in the final of the classics instead of riding his ass off for strong Sep.

TLDR; I like the dutch enclave in my team  :disco:

I would have bid but made a pact with myself this year, with the exception of my attempt at Chaves and Nizzolo I would got for riders ive never owned before

So my team is now almost complete, and will be 20 riders

Am I happy? I guess we shall see but I think I have a strong strong core

Dumo, Martin, Talansky, Nieve, Rolland, for GC
Greipel, Tsatevich for Sprints
Boonen, Barbier for Cobbeled Classics/Sprints
Ulissi Allrounder
Gasparotto Flemish Classics
Quinziato, Bilbao, Mendes are all abit unknown as to how they may perform but have decent potential
Guerreiro and O'Conner look like exciting neo's
+ 3 more to come

Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: Joelsim on November 14, 2016, 05:49:16 PM
That's me done then. (Probably/unlikely [delete as applicable] given there are still 2 months til the first race).

A much stronger one-day/sprint team than last year with Kristoff, Coquard, Cort Neilsen, Lobato, Jans, Nordhaug, Carapaz, Meurisse, Maronese and Looij. Some of these could do well in certain stage races GC too.

The GC guys and climbers are led by Froomedog with youngsters Lopez, Fernandez, Buchmann, Howson, Rodriguez, Martin and Rybalkin, supported by Chernetskiy and Denifl.

Plenty of youth on the small roster and a couple of very big guns. Bags of potential on paper. Hopefully it means I can enjoy some Classics this year instead of dreading them.

Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: glomser on November 15, 2016, 11:43:25 AM
I'm pretty happy with my team.

for the GC I have Porte. And I hope Bennett and De La Cruz can do the same as last year. And no one can tell what Purito is up to.  For the springclassics I have both Degenkolb (MSR, Cobbles) and Stybar (All kind of classics) And for the sprints I can sent Modolo and Mareczko in. With Castroviejo I've got my time traveller and Turgis showed he's the man for a good jump to victory.

So I guess all parts are covered. With Torres I hope I've got a rider who will get back into his form of 2015 and with Hansen and Rosskopf I've got riders who still getting stronger.

With some youngsters like Ruffoni, Van Lerberghe, Olivier, Power, Gibbons and Shalunov I have some talent too.

Hope the moves to new teams for De La Parte, Bouet, Brajkovic and Vermeltfoort will give them new spirit.

Haga missed almost the wholwe last season, but what he showed at the end of last season I hope he will do well in this season.

Leaves me 2 good sprinters from the second row in Kreder and Anderson and Fernandez and Domont who may surprice me.

Overall I have a decent team to finish somewhere in the middle.

I've still got 3 spaces to fill but I'm happy with my team. After a disappointing year I'm hoping to bounce back.

A lot will depend on Fabio Aru hopefully a Giro/Vuelta season will suit him better than the Tour did.

I wanted more riders who could win races this year so focused on fast men. Nizzolo was my number 1 target and was very happy to get him in to join Bonifazio. Also in the sprints I will have Sam Bennett who will hopefully develop into a top sprinter. Phil Bauhaus is a wildcard who could be great, maybe next year though.

Experienced pro's Tony Martin, Tanel Kangert and Dani Navarro will hopefully pick up plenty of points. Young Belgians Lampaert, Teuns and Campenaerts add some fire power in TT's and breakaways.

Plenty of potential as well with Molard, Eiking, Ganna, Martinez, Velasco and a few more looking to break through.

A strong Polish contingent including Bodnar, Wisniowski, Golas, Paterski and Franczac. Shame I couldn't get Kwiatek or Majka to join them.

Roll on the TDU!

You got Nizzolo and Panzer for a song. Both could have very strong seasons.
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: cranky on November 15, 2016, 01:56:37 PM
Was amazed I got Nizzolo for under 600k when you look at how many cq points he got last year, even taking out the .1 points he is one of the top sprinters.

Coquard was my second choice so with him Kristoff and Froome BMC are looking strong this year.
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: TERatcliffe26 on November 15, 2016, 02:23:51 PM
With what was available I not sure where I could have got any better value from, or managed to get more than 20 riders.

I wanted Chaves and Nizzolo but both went too expensive for what I could afford and I still only ended up with 20 riders and half of them are 60k or less
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: Joelsim on November 15, 2016, 03:59:52 PM
It's not like you have a weak team Tom, some bloody good riders in there. For some reason this year seems to have stronger teams all round than I remember from the past 2 years. Most teams look pretty decent. BB has Piti, Nairo and Landa, Flo has some excellent riders inc my man crush Gaviria...I could go on.

Garfield has a whole team of boys sucking lollipops who we have absolutely no idea about except perhaps Costa, Ace has some big guns.

The noobs have got some good riders too.

And that's before we look at Sagan and Alaphilippe.

Going to be a very interesting year.
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?

It is really hard to pick an out and out favourite this year BMC and Sky do look very strong, it will be interesting to see if the lack of numbers cost them in the end.

Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: TERatcliffe26 on November 15, 2016, 05:33:48 PM
Yh i wasnt suggesting it was weak or anything, more a reflection of the prices riders were going for, I thought it was very difficult to get to get quality and expect to be able to get 30 riders.

At a push I could have maybe tactically gone slightly different and got maybe 24 riders. Could have gone for 4 60/70k riders and none gone for Barbier and Bilbao to get 22. Or/And could have not gone for Dumo and maybe gone for either say a Nizzolo/Gallopin type combo + 1 cheap, or say a Krujiswijk or Majka with Gallopin.

But apart from that I found it a very difficult market.

And most of my big names are set for next year, so again I will struggle to get above 20ish

The more teams the less riders people will have as more money will drive up the prices of the better riders

Also the first time ive not managed to buy anyone for 30k, they seemed much easier to come by back when I first played this. The ones I expected to go cheap have still gone for that bit more 40/50/60k

Again this is opinion on what a rider may do, but for the fact that Seb Henao, Mamykin and Ciccone have gone on 2 year deals 0f either 240k or 210k shows how expensive the market is. Personally id value the first 2 at up to 100k max, and about 80k max for Ciccone. I payed 20k over my valulation for Bilbao and 30 over for Barbier due to the market, but for me they are examples of way over in my opinion.
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: TERatcliffe26 on November 15, 2016, 05:38:48 PM
I also payed over for Dumo (by 200), but its less of an issue as a big guy is a big guy, and I payed just under for Greipel (up to 60 under) and bit more under for Ulissi (maybe up to 130 under) . Payed a tad over Talansky too, and id say Formolo is tad over but a much better option than Rolland was. Gaspo about bob on, although would have been more than willing to take him for a year at 150k and get another rider. Nieve a bit over, again think he should have been 30k less. The bug steal could be the other Dumo at 60k if he turn his French race form into some of the other races, but even at 60k should pay for himself
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: TERatcliffe26 on November 15, 2016, 05:59:33 PM
If my team got the same points as last year, with O'Conner scoring 0 it would have finished 2nd.

However Dumo could increase with a decent GT, and Greipel scored less than he should have. Boonen wont score as many, and it will be a tough ask for Ulissi and Gaspo to do the same. However I believe the Dumo can do better, as can Barbier racing more top level races as could Bilbao. Martin, Formolo and Talansky could well do about the same, so long as all Top 10 at 1 GT. Nieve could improve with a better GC result.

Overall id say im looking at about 5th again, unless its a bit tighter and the winning score drops by 500-1000
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: Joelsim on November 15, 2016, 06:01:07 PM
Blimey, you've worked it out to the nearest 10k. I think I've got Cort, Lobato and a couple of my cheapies at great value, Kristoff too potentially. Buchmann has been bought for next year I guess although he should score some this year. Nordhaug is overall leader at Aqua Blue and Jans looks to be that at his new team too. Coquard hopefully continues to grow.

Fingers crossed.
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: TERatcliffe26 on November 15, 2016, 06:26:52 PM
You gotta use some maths in it, although it only works to a degree, but with enough maths and perceived value, especially compared to the market, barring injuries and a complete lack of form from your big purchases you can pretty much make sure you wont finish in the bottom 3rd if you have it right. If you do get it right you should finish in the top 8, but obviously fluctuations make it difficult to get bob on and say you will 100% get in say the top 3. but my maths should have me around 5th/6th and a tad short, but equally it could go my way, or equally not and I end up lower. But then again ive come 4th/5th/5th past 3 years.

Kristoff falls into the big guy bracket and so long as he does expected, wont actually be what wins it if you analysed it. (I know it looked like Sagan won it last year, but actually it was probably the vaule of another rider compared to another that made the difference).
Coquard should be decent value, its just a risk with the likes of him and say Bouhanni at such prices, as they are not with world tour teams, so less chance to make up for non-performances. Lobato im not sold on, and Cort should do well
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: Joelsim on November 15, 2016, 06:34:47 PM
Lobato I wouldn't have been if he'd stayed at Movistar, just think he may get more chances with Lotto. Classics too.
Title: Re: How pleased are you with your team?
Post by: TERatcliffe26 on November 15, 2016, 06:48:56 PM
Agreed in terms of chances, however for me when he was given chances at Movistar he just didnt show up often enough, Id have had him for 100k of less but for me was a no no. I guess we shall see.

Overall fairly happy with how the bidding went, I know I overpaid in some areas but coming in cold with a lot of the big hitters already taken did mean a scramble for some of the names.

GC

Chaves - My big hitter a bit pricey but age on his side so to tie him into a 3 year deal isnt too bad.

Super Domestiques

Brambilla - been a fan since 2011, had a breakout year last year more of the same in 2017
Poels - will probably be sucked into the Sky train duty - great all rounder

One dayers

Swift - promised lots, new team hoping he will shine
Stuyven - Young and loads of potential

Climbers

Carthy (has shown he can climb with the best) - Anacona, Berhane, Cataldo, Teklehaimanot (Hope they climb to some stage wins)

Sprinter

Viviani (Cav got away from me but Viviani had a quiet 2016 but was focused on Olympic gold)

Got some other wild cards Slagter can surprise, McNally could do ok in some smaller races, Dunbar has a load of potential - others who knows.

Be fun seeing how things go this year, hopefully I will avoid the lanterne rouge.

So first draft this year, and happy to have the opportunity to build my own team (tough last year to handle all races with so few riders).
A good level of young riders (average age of 26) with 10 guys with a 2 years contracts so this is a good starting point.
Still with the Saxo and team leader
Vincenzo Nibali: for his last year with us
Not many GC riders, so should be tough to win a top GC (ok Nibali), but could get some points in smaller Tours
Lawson Craddock: some good results in 2016
Joe Dombrowski: a lot of expectation the previous years, hopefully the good one
Sebastien Reichenbach:  did very well last year considering that he was mainly working for Pinot
Reinardt Janse Van Rensburg: good CLM and not too bad at climbing
Sander Armee:  cheap regarding the points he scored last year in WT and HC GC
My sprinters: not a top scorer, but strong, deep and promising team (only 24 years old average, and all 2 years contract)
Edward Theuns:  very good results and young
Sondre Holst Enger: really like his promising result in 2016
Niklas Arndt
Daniel McLay
Moreno Hofland
And coming from last year
Wouter Wippert: hopefully he will pay me back his big salary this year

The one day hopes: not very good, I will look at the Italian classic
Pim Lighart : why not ? Scored in 1HC and 1WT
Alberto Betiol: my top one day hilly races, with a 2 years contract
Pieter Weening:  really like what this warrior did in 2016, so…. Could also bring some points in GC
Andrea Fedi: only 25 lot of point in HC and 1 races, so should perform also in WT level soon

The Climbers
Omar Fraile: hope I did not overpaid
Egor Silin: should continue to bring points in GC and climbing stages
Dharwin Atapuma : what a fighter, hope he will continue on the same rate
Alexis Vuillermoz: good puncheur and climber, could also get points in one day (and a 2 year contract)

My youngers
Antwan Tolhoek: in his second year with the Saxo
Neilson Powless: get him in a trade; let’s see
Daniel Jaramillo : was not really looking at him but no one bid on top, so good price
Yevgeny Gidich (good sprinter for the V4E squad, should continue at the upper level this year)
I hope I will not cry too much in the next 2 years having trade Adrien Costa !!!

Well, it's looking like I have no riders in the TDU.

Got a feeling there are going to be quite a few races like that for me this year, and possibly including the Giro.

:Lampre: 2017

My main ideas at 2017 draft was trying to sign strong riders for 1 week stage races, the kind of riders I think will benefit most from the new WT calendar, and keep some cash to try to catch one of those big fish available in 2018.

Apart the neo, I've got five 2y deals:
COSTA Rui Alberto Faria for 700
KWIATKOWSKI Michal for 610
KELDERMAN Wilco for 510
VAN GARDEREN Tejay for 330
POZZOVIVO Domenico for 240

As :Lampre: was 3rd in our 2016 league with Costa signed for 930 and Tejay for 830, I believe this 2017 set of leaders is stonger. I'm more happy with these deals than with the <210 ones.
Mind that :Lampre: signed the biggest talent at this year draft, Kwiatko.  :taco:

About the rest, pointing mainly to 1 week stage races / hilly classics :Lampre: has:
KREUZIGER Roman for 410
ALBASINI Michael for 180
GONÇALVES Jose Isidro Maciel for 130
LAMMERTINK Maurits for 130
MACHADO Tiago Jose Pinto for 110
KISERLOVSKI Robert for 110
ROUX Anthony for 130
VAN DEN BROECK Jurgen for 100
VANENDERT Jelle for 80
LAGUTIN Sergey for 30

Great hope for Gonçalves. Lammertink can do good too. Albasini is still strong, got 2nd at liége last year and always delivers something at Romandie/Suisse.

This means I have a much weaker sprint / classics team...

Sprinters:
LAPORTE Christophe for 130
PORSEV Alexander for 70

Porsev will have opportunities at Gazprom and I hope Laporte to have a different calendar from Bouhanni, apart the bigger races obviously.

Cobble classics, any top 10 at any cobble classic is already a victory...
LANGEVELD Sebastian for 40
SENECHAL Florian for 130
BURGHARDT Marcus for 30

Our TT'ers come from Movistar. Sütterlin got his first really good display in 2016 Eneco and I hope to see him building on that. Oliveira is probably too good doing flat gregario stuff to have great oportunities.
SÜTTERLIN Jasha for 110
OLIVEIRA Nelson Filipe Santos Simoes for 210

For the rest, young ones and all-rouder gregarios mainly, I'm more positive about Vliegen for a breakthrough:
CONTI Valerio
ZURLO Federico
PUCCIO Salvatore
IMPEY Daryl
DE MARCHI Alessandro
VLIEGEN Loïc
HOELGAARD Daniel
CAVAGNA Rémi

I foolishly signed Busche, thinking he had signed for Caja Rural as I had seen him listed on their page on both CQranking and PCS. Turns out that was a mistake on their part and he has actually retired. :bla: :rool:

And now Meersman has retired as well :( Not a good start at all...

With Bakelants, Woods, Haas , De Bie and Marcato I could do a good start.
The first 2 made an objective in this races and have high ambition.
Haas is in good shape en could score some nice stage results.
The last 2 are just filling the pack to prepare for the classics.

I don't think Froome will miss much of this season, maybe next.

I appear to have assumed my early season position already.

Looks like Adrien Costa has retired, heart not in it.

I'm glad I have him in every game except Country Roads.

Maybe I'll break 100.  The next to last team can't even see me in his rear view mirror. I didn't think i would be this bad. Following the draft, I felt good about my team.

The season is long. Maybe at the end of the Classics you can start to write teams off.

Not even. A GC-dominant team can pick up 5000 in the Grand Tours only :agent:

What a weird Schrödinger's season for myself. Will continue destined for both top and bottom until we hear about Froome

Exactly. I was plum last until the Tour last year, miles behind. Ended up 4th.

Just when it seemed that Lampre's addition of Impey to an already amazing roster finished the season in January for the rest of us... between Froomey, Carapaz, Schachmann, and Lulu, I think I've just had a decent Giro :taco:

Young Ivan Sosa - over 400 points already this year  :winner: - but only 28 for my team :bla:
At least he is down to ride Burgos in August

There's a big risk that, like last year, the TDU leadership just goes until the end... Not cool! (unlike last year )

Was a bit disappointed about my results after TDU, but since Laigueglia I pleased with the team. Ackermann even wins Almeria and as team we gain also the most points in that race. I was hoping for a top 10 in the final GC and we're doing well for that.

Proper racing for me begins with the Omloop; most riders will just be building up before then.

Let's appreciate how weird this season has been thus far - I'm stil somehow sitting at the top of the standings with my two highest paid riders having scored 79 points combined: FROOME Chris 46, THOMAS Geraint 33. Slow down, boys

With Froome out and Yates getting ill, it’s not been a good week for Garfield. He was hoping to be Top Cat this year, but instead it’s turned into a cat-astrophe.

Let's not forget Adam also decided to stink up the Tour, while Kelderman has been severely banged up all year long. A lot depends on today and tomorrow, but G might still easily finish sixth, and consequently the only thing we'll remember about the 2019 Radio-boys will be trading away Pogacar for nothing
