Title: Ace and his Lotto are 2014 Champions!
Post by: Garfield on October 06, 2014, 06:37:50 AM
Luckily it seems Ace will win the championship as he deserves:

Stay tuned :afro:

So now you have to think about replacing your riders that have scored loads of points for relatively little money. I have no chance  :P

And well done Ace if you do get over the line.

Oh, el Pistolero not going to China after all :o

Let's see if my team can steal this one. We're sending:
Samu, Nerz, Intxausti, Sutherland, Silin, Roy, Farrar, Cataldo :afro:

8 riders for Beijing including Sanchez is worrisome, plus Demare for Paris-Tours too.

Hopefully i can grab a few points in Italy to increase my buffer.

100 points or so in it at the end.

The race was close early with many teams in the mix but :RadioShack: put in strong performances in the Giro and Tour to forge ahead. :Lotto: however had pretty good depth and some guy named Contador  :P

:Movistar: probably should have won based on team leaders but the supporting cast wasn't good enough.

The only mega bargain (excluding neo's) on the books for 2015 is Tom Dumoulin; thus we should be in for an exciting bidding period with many top riders available.

Well-deserved victory :toth:

(Although it did hurt to see Demare win all those 1.1 races only to fail at HC level :rool:)

I think it also showed that our neo-pro draft idea works: Wellens, Yates, and Aru elevated their respective teams quite a bit, and in order to keep it entertaining I did well to forfeit the first pick awarded via lucky predictions :)

Just posted more detailed data in the Predictions thread too.

Agreed on the Neo's Hofland for me in his 2nd season would have done better had he not got injured and as for Stuyven I thought he put on a decent show at the Vuelta

Looking forward to the bidding, and maybe I should go for a big gun this time, rather than my tactic of lots of middle of the road and not overspending, as that plan kind of left me middle of the road.

Only 4 riders on my roster for next year I think. Happy to be keeping Moreno, not so much Riblon. Unhappy to be loosing Pozz and Gerrans especially. Tejay will be missed but can maybe get similar for cheaper. Need a better sprinter this year, ive never had a good sprinter to lead
