Montreal Rec's:

Teddy Purcell, $2.0m (2013-14)
Round 1 (ANA)
Round 3 (MIN)


Vancouver Rec's:

Marian Hossa, $5.3m (2013-14)


I did this cause I love Hossa, I have Sharpie now and like the idea of pairing a fellow Blackhawk....Yeah it cost me a bit, but a star like Hossa should cost a bit

Not sure what else to say except we in Canuck land are stoked to have landed our boy and he will enjoy a very long and happy stay here :)_

Montreal confirms

I do this deal to get a cheaper and younger winger as well as another few draft picks to stockpile talent. Gaining $3m in cap is big for me as I only had like $5m to spend via FA.

Messed up trade IMO. Hossa just isn't that much better than Purcell.....in fact I'd argue the other way around. Never mind the cap differential and the picks. Good grief!  :doh:

Well if it wasn't the seven year age difference, or the 250% mark-up in salary along with two picks in the top 20, then I guess killing the deal on a technicality will have to do.

Seriously though....those kind of assets could land a half decent goalie.
