Sorry guys, but I could not wait to talk about this weeks match-up.
This week will be a showdown between the Backyard NHL's two biggest giants! The undefeated Philadelphia Flyers facing off against last year's Stanley Cup Champs, The Chicago Blackhawks! Both teams posted 150 point performances last week. Can they do it again with first place on the line?
Other match-ups of interest:
Calgary vs Pittsburgh! Last weeks loss puts Pittsburgh right outside of the playoff picture, but a win this week will set them up pretty good, as it will place Calgary into a position where they will have to fight to keep their position against other hungry clubs. A win for Calgary will push one of its fieriest competitors a little further away from the playoffs, hopefully giving them a little more security.
Nashville vs Detroit! Detroit is quickly playing itself back into contention, but they need to win out in order to hopefully secure an 8th place position. A win against Nashville will set the situation up nicely for the playoff starved Wings. Nashville is currently in a 2 game losing streak; something they hope to correct this week.
Edmonton vs Boston! Boston is finally picking up heat as they blew out Nashville with a 129 point performance. A performance that would of been good enough to beat Edmonton's 125. Can Boston play its way back into the playoffs? Or will one of the league's youngest and most skill intensive teams dash their hopes? With only 4 weeks left, every game is important to the Bruins.

It still early but :NAS: and :PIT-NHL: are behind in their current match-ups. These teams started the season hot but are trying to avoid a three game losing streak.

:NAS: is rebuilding itself out of contention. I knew goalies were important in this league but din't realize just how skewed the scoring was until after I had made the disastrous move to deal Rinne. If you don't have 3 starters in Backyard, the odds are stacked against you. Add to that the Karlsson injury and I've been trading with an eye to the future ever since.

Great write up Walt, definitely gets you excited to watch some match-ups and to play your respectively match-ups.

I'm going to recommend :OTT: fire their head coach and GM >:(

Something I am learning this week is that my team is a lot farther off from being competitive then I thought it was. I do have Landeskog in the minors but he wont put up 40 points to help me catch up. Oh well can't wait for the offseason to help bring in some depth to help me out.

Boo missed out on 10.5 ftps from Justin peters due to information of flask being first goalie off as usually the starter does but was bc he got hurt boo hope that don't ruin my chances

I look like such a pedestrian next to Tony! It doesn't help that my goalies are getting no starts, either. But a lot of my stars are having dud weeks. And it looks like Dubnyk is having a shut out night. :puke:
