Title: Ottawa/Nashville Deal

Abby and I were visiting over at the IR ward and got to talking....this is what we came up with.

Joni Pitkanen, $2.9m (2014-15)

For

Stephen Weiss, $3.1m (2012-13)

Drew, can you please place Pitkanen on IR for Abby as you shuffle him off to Ottawa? He's done for the season same as Weiss.

I do this to free projected cap so I can re-sign Iginla and Faulk. Abby gets Carolina's powerplay QB for next season. Weiss will probably be waived.

:OTT: confirms ............ I certainly wasn't going to sighn Weiss to a raise so his era in Ottawa is over. I'm taking a chance Pit can play more than 70 games and stay healthy on a good team in Carolina. If he can do that then I like my D-men for next season.
