Title: Giants/Phillies Trade

The Giants and Phillies have agreed to the following:

Phillies give:
Joe Blanton, SP + $5,000,000 towards 2012 contract

Giants give:
5th round pick in upcoming draft.

For Giants, the trade is made to aid it''s push to make playoffs, perhaps more, this year, so basically a two month rental.  Worth the risk/pick.

Phillies confirm. I don't have any type of roster posted, but I am assuming Blanton is a FA. Good luck to San Fran in the playoffs.
