Phillies confirm.
Even with TJ a possibility for Crawford position players come back a lot faster than pitchers. I'm hoping he comes back to form as he was in Tampa. With the money on his contract he is also at a reasonable price. Getting rid of Young's contract was huge for me. I have no value for Madson and Panik may turn out to haunt me. Lee is good but I like having the cap room back for next year.

WOOF. I like what the Yanks get here. Cliff Lee and Michael Young are peforming. Madson will pan out next year. What is Crawford doing but eating up cap space? One key here is that Philly opens up a lot of cap space in this deal for 2013-15. By my counts, they gain $19.5m in cap space in 2013. The better value is going to New York, but the potential for just as many points and then more cap space goes to Philly.
