To Anaheim
Ryane Clowe, $3.6m (2012-13)
Ales Hemsky, $1.5m (2013-14)
Josh Harding, $1.0m (2012-13)
Tomas Tatar, $0.2m (2014-15)
To Detroit
Nick Foligno, $2.5m (2013-14)
Antti Niemi, $3.1m (2012-13)
Thunderblade wanted Neimi and I told him to give me an offer I couldn't refuse... well here it is! To give up Neimi is VERY hard to do as he was a Top 10 Goalie in the league last year and put up very good numbers. Foligno is also on a awesome contract and procuces a lot but I love my Goaltending situation going forward with Bob, Harding and Bernier paired with Lundy, so giving Neimi hurts a little less. I think tatar will be a great NHL'er and Clowe and Hemsky will hopefully have a come back year in 12-13.
Thanks for the easiest Blockbuster i've ever done TB!!!!

Well you have to give to get. My team stunk last year and the big thing missing was another starting goalie. Niemi is the answer to my problem, has a great pedigree and ultra durable. Foligno is young, has huge power forward potential on a young up and coming team. I traded away alot of talent, but Hemsky frustrated me tremendously with his injuries. Clowe is a solid player but acquiring Foligno should negate his loss. Harding is a free agent and who knows where he will end up. I like Tatar butI had to give up quality to get quality. And last but not least, I save 500K in cap spacewhich I can really use. Thanks Beaner for the deal and good luck next year. :agent:

Its as they say in the backyard... You gotta trade big for a goalie. But thunderblade covers a huge weakness on his squad while Anaheim obtains some scary depth. But :iatp:

:iatp: Gotta give the win to Detroit here though, Niemi is guaranteed to start and Anaheim loses a 2 starter rotation by having 1 starter and 3 backups but has a good looking back-end going forward.

Very big price to pay for Niemi. I understand the trade given importance of the position but the upside is almost all Bean's. Not arguing against it in any way. We all have to roll the dice now and then.
