Helsin martinez is on the Rays roster.  Is there one Helsin and one Hersin? Or is it typical news screw up with the first names? They are both listed as 6ft 5 OF from the Dominican signing with Seattle.

I believe it's one person, just a mistake in spelling.  If you look at this link announcing Hersin Martinez signing for $1.1 mil with Seattle, and then click the 'announced on July 2' link within, you'll then see Helsin Martinez signing for $2 mil the year before, then refuted by Seattle.  I'm pretty convinced it's one and the same person.

Yes, Helsin/Hersin are the same guy.  We have a conversation on it a month or so back.  There was some confusion over the contract and it was initially refuted by the Mariners, but eventually they reannounced it later.
