Toronto sends 

Deck McGuire prospect contract

for

Andrew Cashner $440,000{2012} under team control till 2016


I like McGuire, but don't think he emerges as a top option out of my young crop of pitchers. Cashner gives me the potential for a franchise closer over the next few years.

Cubs Accept the trade with the Jays. This is the second trade under the new Gm Kris Davis. Kris said this trade helps create depth with the future pitching staff for the Cubbies but he hated losing Cashner who will probably be getting tons a saves.
