Raptors get
- Jalen Suggs $5m 2025 ($2.5m already paid in 2024)

Spurs get
- Devin Vassell $3.4m 2024. Raptors extend him for 2 years at $20.4m ($0.9m paid in 2024 and $5.4m paid 2025)

Spurs were looking for a young SF

Raptors also agree. Looking for a PG and see Suggs as an up and coming player.

I thought the rule was that we can only pay towards this year and not any future years.

No trades completed this season can still include cash exchanges even in future years, as long as they respect the maximum 25% limit on the total contract. There have been several trades completed in recent months that have included a cash exchange for the next seasons. The new rule on cash exchanges will come into effect from next season. To clarify, it means that trades that will be completed from when the market reopens in the next off-season will no longer be able to contain cash exchanges
