Title: Yankees Trade Block
Post by: jcoombs16 on April 05, 2010, 11:49:25 AM
Currently have Cano starting.  Reyes and Lowrie are on the DL and Miles is in the minors.  Plenty of pitching depth available... and I am willing to do a blockbuster trade to fill this long term.

I need some cap room... if someone is able to take the following contract then I would be more than happy to compensate with a top draft pick and prospect.

SP Vazquez, Javier, $11.5m (2010)

He won't be this bad all year long, but I need the cap room (I can add cash in there, but prefer not to), so I can fill up my remaining roster with cheap prospects (7 bench spots) and have cap room to trade.

I am already in negotiations with Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore, Florida, Washington, and Philly.  I would like to make a move by the end of the week.

I think we're close to a deal!  I'll eat nearly all of that salary if you can give me two of the players I want.

Yankees are looking for another corner infielder to fill the role of the Utility spot (Mike Aviles is the current DH) and reserve CI (no major leaguer here).  The Yankees have some cap room and a couple of prospects that can be traded.  I am not really looking to trade picks unless they are past the 5th round.

Yankees are now looking to build up the top echelons of the farm.  I understand that some star power may need to be shipped.  As you know by now with A-Rod, Jeter, and Swisher, I am not afraid to do such things.

If anyone needs a catcher, I could help out... Cervelli/Posada is working out well for him making Varitek and his 600 points tradeable.

Varitek is up for trade.

Cano is available.
I have two people with interest in Cano, but neither of them have a viable MI replacement.  With that said, I could offer a pitcher or Derrek Lee for a MI replacement to make this a three-team deal.  I am not looking for someone amazing, but a solid MI will do.  If value needs to be evened up, throw a prospect in the mix or a CI/OF MLB'er.  The third parties involved are willing to send me a couple of their best prospects.

I would also be willing to hear offers from people straight up if they have a MI replacement and two stud prospects.

Cano is off the block... the contract is great and he is a stud.

Nope, I made a preliminary deal for Reyes instead of Cano.

Yankees are looking for another MI to possibly start or take the bench.  I don't have much depth there and would like to take on a player who doesn't have a huge contract.
