G Branden Holtby $7.5m 2024
C Patrice Bergeron $7 2023
2025 1st

Red Wings Trade:

RW Brendan Gallagher $2.6m 2025
:DET-NHL: sends $2.6m cash each season



Operating with assumption Bergeron/Holtby have played their last games but no official retirement. Needing immediate cap, this dumb was neccessary to allow me to resign key guys before deadline tonight.

Detroit confirms

Deal nets a future pick and Holtby and Bergeron could be viable trade assets if they play on.

I don't think you can trade 2025 picks until after we have the 2023 draft. Can only trade two years at a time.

Rules
Supplemental draft picks can be exchanged but only for drafts up to 2 years from the current season.  Fantrax only include picks up to 2 years from the current season - so if you see the picks on Fantrax, they're tradeable.  If they're not on Fantrax, they're not tradeable.

Yea we previously kept to the rule that Shooter cited but ever since we adopted Fantrax for these functions - those picks are available to trade as soon as Fantrax makes them available.  Which is as soon as the league is rolled up to the new year.  Good trade.
