The value of a prospect extension has stayed the same since the beginning of the league. In the meantime, salaries have increased and the number of options in available in free agency have diminished significantly. I propose that the minimum prospect extension be increased from $4m to $6m to reflect the salary changes and make more players available in free agency.

I feel the same way here as I do with potentially changing the minimum salary rule. I have acquired players and planned for salaries with the extension values where they are. I think the change would need to take place after 2024 at the absolute earliest.

I am not in favor of this increase which penalizes GMs who prefer to build their farm systems rather than making $20m bids on older stars in free agency.

I agree with updating the salary for prospect extensions and the minimum salary. I will post this same message on both threads as my logic is the same for both.
Like many others, I've built my strategy around keeping as many young (cheap) players on my roster as possible. But I also realize that for this league to remain successful, there has to be more parity, and that comes with stronger FA pools, where GM's can make significant impacts to their rosters in one off season. The only way to create those stronger FA pools, is to make budgets come into play more frequently. Honestly, I don't think I have had to make enough tough decisions with the roster I have...it's been relatively easy to keep my team intact.
Even though these changes would create some difficult decisions for me, I think it's in the best interests of the league to do so. From a timing standpoint, I think the 2023 - 2024 offseason would be the most appropriate to implement.

I oppose raising the minimum prospect extension. As already mentioned above, many teams factor that into building their teams. Also, this league has varying salary caps so not every team is equal. If we raise the minimum prospect extension it further helps the teams with the larger salary cap and hurts the small market/small cap teams.

I oppose this change unless the salary caps go up as well
