The Nets are doing this out of a need for cap flexibility going forward and gaining young talent to help make up for some of the talent lost. With Lowry, Oubre, KD and Butler, the Nets were going to need to move at least one high salary player and Butler ended up being the player that someone had enough interest in to take. The Nets gain a late 1st (2022) then 2 young players in Banton and Korkmaz.

Fantraxed @Braves155 Banton was unable to be added to the G-League as he is not eligible due to playing 64 games last year.

This trade needs to be re-worked or a different pick needs to be put in place of the :OKC: 2nd. That pick still belongs to :SA: due to revised Spurs/Lakers trade: http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=408934.0
