Leafs Trade:
LW/RW Viktor Arvidsson, $4.3m (2023-2024)
D Brayden Mcnabb ($4.3m resign and goes down to $3.6m if :VGK: make him assistant)
D Marrio Ferraro - His RFA rights
C Jack Finley, $0.6m (R)
Knights Trade:
D Neal Pionk, $8.1m (2025-2026) - $4m paid for upcoming season then $2.5m pd each year through 2026
LW Ilya Fedotov, $0.6m (R)
RW Chase Stillman, $0.8m (R)
While running back most of team would be nice, looking into all my expired players and their extension costs I have no choice but to shake things up. With this deal I pick up Pionk to replace the dmen going out and on a reasonable price, plus 2 interesting winger prospects. Send a package out where I also save some salary. Ferraro I was going to try and keep, but is a wild card on on what his RFA bid goes for and decided to trade instead.

Like Toronto, the Knights made some tough decisions to improve the team. The attraction for this deal for Vegas was the opportunity to retain Ferarro at a hopefully somewhat decent price for his youth and then get an interesting Lightning prospect in Finley who the Knights are intrigued by. Losing Pionk will sting, but Ferarro and the intent of making McNabb an assistant make the cost worthwhile.
