These players will be given the following contracts and kept in the minors based on passing 40 games played
Taro Hirose - $0.5m for 1 year
Karson Kuhlman - $0.5 for 1 year

Can these guys actually be signed to 2 year contracts?

Karson Kuhlman - $0.5 for 1 year
40+ games of NHL Experience - Can be signed only to a major league contract with value of the contract dictated by draft position or extension value (whichever is higher). These players will automatically be transferred to major league roster and have to be signed to a contract or released to free agency. They will also be subject to waivers to return to the minor league.

Can these guys actually be signed to 2 year contracts?
No. They passed their limits last year so they should have been automatically called up on 2 years contracts then. This post is making up for an oversight from last year.
