C - Cal O'Reilly, $1.5m (2013-2014) ... will find his scoring touch under tippet in PHX
RW - Cam Atkinson, $1.6m (2013-2014) ... great prospect & contract, maybe arrives end of yr
D - Keaton Ellerby, $2.2m (P-2012) ... good young NHL prospect, 1yr away from full-time duties for the real-life panthers
G - Martin Jones, $0.2m (2012-2013) ... good prospect in kings system
C - Quinton Howden, N/C, (0 Games) ... florida prospect projected to be a scoring winger
RW - Nick Shore, N/C, (0 Games) ... kings prospect projected to be a shifty playmaker

to florida
D - Brent Regner, $0.2m (2011-2012) ... i'll eat his salary and buy out so he's off OTT books (BUYOUT @ $0.1m 2011-12)
D - Brian Lee, $0.6m (2011-2012) ... i'll eat his salary and buy out so he's off OTT books (BUYOUT @ $0.4m 2011-12)
D - Matt Carkner, $0.7m (2011-2012) ... i'll eat his salary and buy out so he's off OTT books (BUYOUT @ $0.5m 2011-12)
C - Zack Smith, $0.5m (P-2012) ... good young plugger
RW - Daniel Alfredsson, $4.9m (2012-2013) ... overpriced vet that produces when he plays but injured half the time
minor leaguer D - David Rundblad, N/C, (13 Games) ... the key to this trade

low-down: sens wanted to rebuild plus move some guys from the old regime and we felt they were worth the buyout hit to get bodies we wanted. we also wanted to move players left behind from the old re-building panthers' regime to take a shot at the post-season. tough parting with andy, cam, quinton but it'll be worth it if rundy pans out.

With a 0-7 team we had to go into rebuilding mode immediately. It started off as a 2 for 1 deal and took off from there. I picked up a great package of skilled players while dumping useless D taking up roster space. In my opinion I gave up 2 good players to get 4 in return.

I might just win a game this season if I can make a few more moves. If only other teams would start replying to messages in their inbox.
