Title: New International Signing Period
Post by: EastCoastGonzo on June 28, 2021, 01:23:30 PM
Post below your ideas for when our new International Signing Period will be.

It seems that MLB's dates have changed from July 2nd to Jan 15th.

Normally we have opened ours a few days after MLB to allow for the signings to be announced, however that would mean opening up signings in mid-Jan.

Post your thoughts below and there will likely be a poll to follow depending on the ideas.

We should wait till mlb does it because no one for sure knows who will be signed exspecially with mlb teams payroll spending was lower than last yr

Run it mid-Jan through Spring Training.    It will run concurrent to the preseason FA bidding-- similar to this year.

One issue we?ve had in this league in the past is workload for commishes and others processing transactions so might be best during a more quiet period.

I think it should definitely be after whenever MLB does it but doesn?t have to be immediate. Maybe like around spring training or start of season once most all the FA transactions are processed.

Regardless, I think it should mostly be up to the league executives handling the transactions. Whatever works best for them in regards to the management. This league takes a lot of admin work so whatever helps reduce that, as long as it?s after MLBs date is fine by me
