:NYY: makes this trade for one simple reason, I have too many LF to have any flexibility. With Yelich, Juan Soto and Yordan Alvarez all only qualifying at LF one of the 3 had to move and Yelich made the most sense in a deal like this. I’m a pretty big Harper fan and while I may have given up slightly more in my opinion, I’m happy to be able to get a stud RF and break up my OF a bit better. Thanks @Shannonlwalker2 and good luck.

Dodgers were in a similar position in RF. Harper Adell Fowler among others with only Robbie Grossman for LF.  The $$ annual is the same, although we are picking up 3 extra years on the backend.  The prospect swap was more of a lottery draw for me as I have almost no pitching depth after my call ups.   

Leave it to the Dodgers and Yankees to make a splash 😆
