Bullets Trade:


SG/PG De'Anthony Melton 1.7m (2021-22)
SF Jaylen Hoard 1.2m (2022-23)

Blazers Trade:

SF/SG Josh Jackson 7.3m (2020-21)


I wish I had more cap flexibility as I am rooting for Jackson to succeed with Pistons and seems like a good fit, but simply didn't see how it made sense to keep him and Otto Porter. Melton has a more friendly contract and should be decent depth plus taking flier on Hoard being a Blazer.

Bullets confirm.  The Klay injury makes this a necessity for me.  I like Melton, but I have more depth at PG and think that Jackson will hopefully take a nice step forward in Detroit.
