Title: Toronto/Anaheim deal
Post by: RyanJames5 on September 03, 2020, 06:27:49 PM
Toronto receives:
Anze Kopitar, $4.9m (2021-22)
Connor Timmins, N/C (0 games)

Anaheim receives:
Eric Staal, $4.1m (2020-21)
Jack Studnicka, N/C (0 games)
Alex Formenton, $0.7m (2021-22)
Bobby Brink, N/C (0 games)
Dylan Samberg, N/C (0 games)

Anaheim makes this deal to try to gain as much talent as possible. I like Kopitar and he is obviously the most productive player in the deal immediately, but getting 4 young players with so much upside made it worth the trade. Thanks and good luck to Toronto.

:TOR-NHL: accepts this trade

I had to give several prospects to acquire a top player like Kopitar. My main lost is Formenton but Kopitar should help me to continue to compete. For Timmins he should make my NHL roster at the start of the next season.

Thanks :ANA: for the deal
