Title: Minor League Salary
Post by: jrmatt73 on October 01, 2011, 01:32:51 AM
I am just a little confused about non 40 mn roster contracts

Do players in our minor league not on the 40 man have a salary that impacts our cap, other than the signing fee for free agents?

Do they have contract lengths or do we have rights to the player indefinately?

If they do not have yearly salaries are they able to be dropped without penalty?

Minor league players do not have salaries, unless you specifically signed them to a contract as a free agent.

There is no set contract length for minor leaguers. You have the rights to them indefinitely, as long as you meet the roster requirements. Each level has a roster size and the lower levels have an age limit.

Minor leaguers can be dropped without penalty.
