Buffalo confirms this trade that sends often invisible and somewhat overpaid A.Duclair with super prospect Yamamoto to the Canadiens in return for blueline banger Engelland, Tom Fitzgerald's boy Casey and slippy when wet or on frozen water Ivan Lodnia of the O's IceDogs.
Duclair's huge cap hit and uncertain playing time has come to an end in Buffalo. I wanted to cut bait with another 3 years left on his contract at $5.5 million and there was a price to pay for that.

:iatp: I have to say in a league where cap is king, this trade is more meaningful. Duclair is serviceable however comes with an extremely steep price tag that warrants compensation. The most recent case of no one claiming Zack Smith from Ottawa while on waivers with a $3.3m cap hit would help explain this FNHL trade.

Pending confirmation by Montreal. This is a balanced deal for both teams given Duclair's large cap hit and relatively low production but coupled with Yamamoto who is considered a strong prospect evens out the trade because Engelland is a fairly consistent producer on defence in FNHL.

:iatp: Kailer offsets the bad contract that comes with Anthony. We have D to spare and can help our team overall by dealing Deryk so that's why I'm going ahead with this deal. Thanks Beef!
