Title: Replacing Inactive GM's
Post by: kenny on September 24, 2011, 05:26:19 PM
There have been a few inactive GM's that I will be looking to replace. People have started asking about whether they can switch teams if they like one of the inactive teams. I'm not opposed to this, but if we do allow this, there needs to be a fair procedure (which I'm having a very difficult time thinking of). Anybody have any ideas?

Colby,
Has anybody been unhappy with that system so far?

I think you need to add a rule where you couldn't switch more than once in a year (or ever).

I'm strongly considering that. I don't want this to be musical chairs.

I started using this for CoC1/2. I mainly used the same concept as FGM.

I'm considering the following:

If the GM position of an organization is unfilled, a current GM may resign from their current organization and take on this role.

The GM may only switch organizations once during their tenure with the league.

GM's are to provide a list of (maximum) three teams that they may wish to switch to in the future. The list has to be provided to the Commissioner's Office prior to the announcement that the team has been made available. This rule is in place to prevent people from switching teams just to get better players.

In the event more than one GM has the same organization on their wishlist, priority will be given to the GM with the longer tenure in this league.

Any thoughts on this?

I think that sounds good Kenny.

I am in agreement as well, Kenny

Thinking about it some more, I'm leaning back towards giving priority to those who have been with AFB the longest. People would have 48 hours to make a claim. Each person may only switch teams ONCE during their tenure with the league.

The comment period will be open through Saturday night and the new rule will take effect Sunday morning if there's no opposition to it.

This rule is in effect and will be inserted into the constitution. GM's will have 48 hours to apply for an open position after it is announced. Note that this does not apply to the open position for the Twins as that was announced prior to this rule.
