Title: Maple Leafs-Hurricanes Trade

Carolina Trades:

Justin Faulk, $6.8m (2016-2020)
Gustav Nyquist, $2.5m (2018-2021)
Round 4 - 2018  (from :TBL:*; originally :CLS:)

Toronto Trades:

Brad Marchand, $8.3m (2017-2022)

In a prefect world I would have kept Faulk and Franchised him but I think it's likely that Carolina moves him at some point this year which would really put me in a bind given my cap situation. We were heavily involved in the Benn trade talks but unfortuantely we didn't have the specs Calgary was looking for.

Marchand is probably the most hated player in the league so he will be a great addition to the evil empire.

This was a tough trade to make, i absolutely love the Rat! He is my favorite player in the league. So here is why i am trading him. Player development has been slow but i have many on the verge of hitting the NHL. An uber weak free agent session. So adding Gus and Faulk net the Leafs 1 extra scoring option. The 4th (9th) round pick just adds another lottery ticket in a deep draft. Not sure '18 will match the production of the '15 draft but it will be close. Thank for the easy talks Halo take care of the Rat he will be missed.
