Title: Jazz/Blazers Trade

Blazers trade:

Jusuf Nurkic         2.9m (2018)
Caleb Swanigan    2.5m (2020)
Maurice Harkless   11.2m (2019)
Wade Baldwin       1.5m (2018)

Jazz trade:

Rudy Gobert  25m (2020)- Jazz pay 12m this year and 10m in 2019 and 2020
Ricky Rubio    15m (2018)
Georges Niang   0m (2018)


Took some back and forth here but I think we are both happy. I like Nurkic but think Gobert is the better player especially in terms of defensive stats and the key here is getting the money paid as I have him locked up for 3 years at a reasonable salary for his skill set. I'm also a Rubio fan so I'll take him at his 1 year deal and see what happens.

I agree. Overall I will save about 10MM in cap or around there for this year. I was currently over the cap by 5MM this will finally get me under. Its never easy to lose a guy who should be around a top-20 player at his position, but I have faith Nurkic can get there. Plus, Swanigan and Harkless should slot in well with my team and Baldwin was a nice add. This was a bit more about making space, but I also got several guys I like. This deal allows me to make the following deal when it happens. I will need to do some work in FA and still need to make a few more moves before its all said and done. This team should not be 5MM over the cap, Jazz are still middle-ground on what to do, but with current cap vs talent, a rebuild might be on the horizon.

A deal Utah had to make to clear some of those big contracts out. Get some nice youth in exchange who are all under team control (I think) as RFA's in the future. Other than Harkless of course.

Looks like the Blazers are in it to win it in the 1st season. Adding 2 good pieces to go with McCollum and Lillard.
