Well, that was fast. Are we not considering the dodgers owner as a new owner in regards to the new owner trading restrictions?

I understand Carl used to be the owner of the Dodgers at one point but trading away a top prospect to probably the first/only team you’ve talked to within hours of taking over the team is the exact reason you put these rules in place Chris.

If the return for Buehler was lights out I’d be more inclined to  overlook the breach of rules but it’s not. I think it’s quite light actually.  Which is why the rule was put in place....to protect new owners from predatory existing owners.

I’d recommend following the rules and Carl, you can  put up a trade block along with dangling Buehler out there to see what other teams will pay. If you still feel this trade is best for your team after shopping him around I’d be happy to give it my approving vote but for now...

Predatory?  :o

I recommend you actually read the rule.  The Dodgers owner has been a member of this site for years.

1) New ownership without previous ProFSL league experience will be restricted from conducting transactions for 72 hours upon admission to the league.

As for the trade, both Guzman and Gimenez are top 100 prospects and the two picks are pretty valuable in this format.  It's quite rare that any trade in this league involves that much talent being offered for another prospect.

Only top 100 I see is Walker, and he places in top 10. I'd like to hear more from LA GM.

I don't feel I should have to explain myself, but I'll entertain it.

The LA team is an absolute mess. The last time I had it and now. I saw an opportunity to get a couple players in the low minors for a guy who is just beginning his major league career. Both Guzman and Giminez DO show up on different Top 100 lists. They both also show up as top options in their organizations top lists. Could I have shopped Buehler around, sure. However, I was presented with an offer that appealed to me and offered me a bit more depth on a team that is years away from competing. Add in two second round picks that should return great value, I assumed I was getting the better end of the deal.

I am by no means a fantasy expert, nor will I ever claim to be. But to be called out immediately and told how I should run this team is insulting. I was presented with an offer that I liked, and I took it. Walker is still a prospect just as much as the other two. I could get insanely lucky, or it could be the dumbest move I make. Either way, Chris and I are the ones taking the risk.

Trade committees are to prevent collusion and stop managers from being take advantage of. Unless you're going to come out and blatantly accuse either of those happening here, I see no reason to not let the trade pass.

:iatp: but Astros easily wins this trade for me. Guzman has potential, but looks overhyped with more walks than K's. GL.  I would of kept Walker and left him in minors, his value would of only increased with time. I guess that is what happens when you move a player without even putting him on block  :o GL with the rebuild though, looks like a longer road now.

I was unaware I needed to consult you before I made any deals. Is it sour grapes because you didn't get a chance at him? No one knows how ANY of these players are going to turn out yet, so keep your smartass remarks to yourself.

I think it is definitely possible a bigger return could have been possible.  I'd be one who would have likely discussed something bigger going back for Buehler, but I don't see anything that should prevent it from passing.

Well, I think this trade is fair enough even though it says nonsense next to it. Also, I believe a better offer would have come along if the rest of the league knew he was available so I like the new 72 hour rule even if it doesn't apply here.
