Cubs Trade:
MI Story, Trevor, $0.5m (P-2019)
OF Puig, Yasel, $4m (2021)
C Jansen, Danny, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP White, Mitchell, $0.5m (P-n/a)

White Sox trade:
OF Springer, George, $7.5m (2022)
OF Abreu, Willie, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Pop, Zach, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Cubs accept. Really happy to bring Springer into the OF. This gives me 4 stud OF once Acuna is up and one will improved my DH slot a lot. I think Story is due for a rebound so he's tough to give up, but with three other MI I should be ok to fill that slot. The rest the prospects are more to make up our difference in valuations. I really like Abreu long term so am ok giving up my catcher of the future and White to make this happen. Thanks for the smooth negotiations ChiSox.

Sox confirm. We have been trying to land a MI for almost a year now and it seems we finally have found our guy in Story. Puig is a bit of a step down from Springer, but he is younger and it appears he finally started to put everything together during the 2nd half of last season. Hopefully, that means he will have a breakout season in 18. I really like White and Jansen as well.  Mejia is my top catching prospect, but it appears he is being switched to OF to get his bat in the lineup.  Therefore, I have a huge need for a future C and I think Jansen fills that void.  White looks like he could be a potential SP stud.

Hated giving up Springer, but this trade fills several needs of ours.  Abreu might end up being something, but I thought in this case he was expendable. Pop is literally just a throw in as I was going to release him anyways to make room on the MiLB roster.

Hopefully, this trade works out for both teams. Thanks Cubs for the easy talks.  :toast:

Last catching prospect named Jansen turned into the best closer in the league so this might just work out for the Sox.
