Title: Detroit and Anaheim Trade
Post by: izaman3 on January 05, 2018, 12:54:22 PM
To Anahiem
RW - Nikolay Goldobin (2014: 1/27 - 9 Games)
LW -  Fabian Zetterlund (2017: 3/63 - 0 games)
C - Noah Gregor (2016: 4/111 - 0 Games)
RW - Ostap Safin (2017: 4/115 - 0 games)
Tyler Steenbergen, $1.1m (2017-2019)
Michael Kapla, $0.7m (2017-2019)
Luc Snuggerud, $1.7m (2017-2020)
Kevan Miller, $4.8m (2017-2020)
Round 3 - 2018  (from :NJD:*)
Cap hit= $8.3m

To Detroit
Rickard Rakell, $4.1m (2016-2019)
TJ Oshie, $5.5m (2015-2019)
Ryan Carpenter, $0.5m (2016-2018)
Cap hit = $10.1m

First I traded for a rental, and now I'm getting some top scorers for at least the next couple years. Again this deal costs me futures, but I'm trying to win this year. Anaheim is going to be scary in a couple years and I probably regret this deal in 3, I need to compete with Carolina and Nashville and I think this helps me do it.

Anaheim confirms this trade.

I know we give up a lot but Anaheim still needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. I know I could have franchised Rakell but he was one of my better pieces to trade for my rebuilding process. I am from Maryland so I am definitely a true Caps fan and hated to see Oshie go but this is fantasy sports and need to manage with my head and not my heart. Plus Oshie was never going to be a part of our rebuilding so it is better to trade him now when he is still performing.

We get a ton of young players with a lot of potential and one 30 year old that will help with our lack of defensemen. All of the prospects and young nhlers should hopefully be performing at some point in the next 1-3 years. The pick just adds to our list of minor league system that we still need to add to.

I should also have the roster space after buying out Niklas Svedberg this morning.

Thanks for the trade izaman3, sorry it took so long but hope it helps you out this year and me long term.

:iatp: Good trade for Wings. Decent for Ducks but lots of those players are speculative at this point.

:iatp: Big package being sent by DET. Ducks give up some good talent to build for the future.
