Arizona steps out from its comfort zone of holding draft picks to trading 2 of them sending 2018 1st and 3rd round picks and Madison Bowey off to the mountains. In return as Ant said Dylan Strome and Carolinas 2018 2nd round pick. Both players are in a sort of grey area as their NHL future is concerned. Bowey will be up later in the year and Strome is with Arizona currently. We like both players but Stromes possiable upside was too much to pass up. Arizona brass confirm this deal thanks Antman on the talks.

Approve, at this point its a deal is still mainly spect and futures. The picks and potential upsides seem to even out and both GMs are happy with the deal.

:iatp: Is Strome still a top prospect these days? The potential is still there for him to be a top 6 but I doubt guys still thing he's L1 material.

Well since it was put in the form of a question I will answer the question. YES as Arizonas GM I 100% think he is a TOP prospect. Here is why. form the 14-15 season until 16-17 (3 seasons in the OHL)  his stats as follows.

14-15 68 games 45 goals 84 assists 129 pts +/- 47
15-16 56 games 37 goals 74 assists 111 pts +/- 23
16-17 35 games 22 goals 53 assists 75  pts  +/- 36

So 159 games played 315 points in 3 years pretty good.  oh......what's his NHL numbers? 9 games doesn't a NHL career make. Note this there is a bushel basket of Stromes in hockey and its easy to confuse them. See the Shore family. This is the nuts and bolts of the trade and why I made this trade.
