Title: Vegas and Sharks (Post draft) trade
Post by: Daddy on August 19, 2017, 10:55:05 PM
Vegas trades:
C/LW Jordan Weal, $0.2m (2016-2018)
C/LW Reid Boucher, $0.7m (2016-2018)
C Peter Holland, $1.3m (2017-2019)
D Joe Morrow, $1.5m (2015-2018)
LW - Martins Dzierkals (2015: 3/68 - 0 Games)  Acquired va TRADE w/ :VAN:
2018 draft picks rds 1-4 (All of them)

Sharks trade:
Max Domi, $2.9m (2016-2019)

From the Vegas end of this we are trading our 2018 picks to move unwanted players & contracts and acquire a young asset in Max Domi to solidify a hole at LW for the long term.
The picks alone probably was enough for Domi as far as value, but the 5 players as well as the picks will help the Sharks who only had 11 players under contract to fill out his roster and clears more space on Vegas as well as cap space. We got the best now asset and cleared cap and player spots so we love the deal.

Sharks to confirm

Sharks agree this was a win win for the sharks. I make this trade for the picks and add a young spec in dizierkals is a machine. 49 points in ahl and only played 49 games. Players I add didn't cost me to much money wise. They are young enough I can take a chance on and see if they have any value and maybe get a couple of surprised players out of them. I'm still able to still go after my free agents I want and just use them to fill in as needed

Scraps and picks for a young player, who should make a significant jump this year. Domi was just average last year, but its hard to imagine Vegas not winning this trade given the picks are so far away. I approve.

Vegas may win now, but most people know that I would rather have the sharks side of this deal.

Approve. But hate these post draft trades. They kick around the board too long.

Approve.

Up front, Vegas gets an excellent young star. I think San Jose gets a good package in return that could pay back over a longer period.

Approved.

Domi is talented but the four draft picks and roster depth headed to the Sharks is going to benefit San Jose if they use all those assets wisely.
