Colorado sends

Filip Forsberg, $2.0m (2014-2017-EL)
Samuel Bennett, $0.2m (2015-2017)
Troy Stecher, $0.2m (2016-2018)

Vancouver sends:

Auston Matthews, $3.0m (2016-2019-EL)

Vancouver to confirm

:VAN: confirm the trade, with heavy hearts the Canucks trade Auston Matthews. Most fans will be  :soapbox: and calling for my head.

In return we get Forsberg that has elite talent and is a top 10 LW, Bennett who has major upside if the flames would just use him properly and B.C boy Stecher who be getting even more pp time in Canucks City next year.
This is all about improving the stength of the team in long run, plus don't have to use one of 3 places to keep Stecher.

:iatp: Great trade for Avs landing Auston, and Canucks gain some great talent that will help them in the longrun. Blockbuster deal for sure. Reminder that Bennett and Forsberg have big extension costs due now if Vancouver wants to keep them beyond July.

:iatp: Once again, doubt dazfoster had to pay that steep a price for 2 players the Avs werent or couldnt afford to resign but good hockey trade. Like Jonathan said, Matthews has great value as a Canuck because he'd always get or is it give a hometown discount as a franchise player.
