Like many of you i watch a lot of hockey, my fiance would say an absurd amount. With in an hour of my house i have 3 AHL teams, 1 USHL, and 1 NAHL team. The last two i have been to often in the last 2 years. I take notes, I've been asked who I'm a scout for. I get odd looks when i explain the FNHL deal. Any way i was curious if you all go on analytics or the old school eye test. My self I'm old school, I've been off on some playere but spot on with others. I get analytics in baseball but not in this great game.

I use my eyes for sure, after that my stupidity usually takes over.
I like analytics and nerd analysis more for baseball because a hitter is relying on no one but himself at the plate. Hockey players must be paired up right and depend on others to make plays and create chances.
So eyes for me.

I'm 50/50.
Seeing young players perform is one thing but then you need to measure them against the backdrop of their peers on the spreadsheet is a must.
Otherwise you might as well throw darts when picking up players to build your franchise if you're only relying on one measure.

yeah i just cant use it, I'll stick with my dart system. I never compare non NHL players to current. I have my own simple evaluation process. Russia is NOT involved
