Title: Philly & Preds Trade

Philly greases the squeaky trade wheels again and makes a deal with Nashville to accomplish a few goals: save cap, get a chance to draft a young high potential prospect with a high 2nd round pick.

Traded to :NAS:
D Matt Niskanen, $5.5m (2014-2018)

Traded to :PHI-NHL:
D Stephen Johns, $1.5m (2016-2019)
Round 2 - 2017  (from :NAS:*; via :CLG:; originally :OTT:)
Cap saved = 4.0m

Niskanen is superior as a defenseman in every way compared to Johns, except for 1 area, age. Johns is 24. Niskanen is 30. Johns is ahead of the 24yo version of Niskanen. Add that to a high 2nd pick while saving $4.0 million bucks, Priceless!

:iatp: PPG we can also say Niskanen is 30 and in his prime so that kills your 1 pt. So it boils down to cap savings because the 2nd rounder isnt much incentive to deal a top 13 Dman in FNHL.
