Post by: jackdaniels on December 10, 2016, 08:33:55 PM
What else are bottom feeders going to do to pass time but trade.

Traded to :CLG:
Brian Elliott, $6.3m (2015-2019)
Henrik Sedin, $5.5m (2013-2017)
Round 2 - 2017 OTT which is likely an high pick

Traded to :OTT:
Mike Hoffman, $4.5m (2015-2018)
James Reimer, $8.0m (2014-2019)
Jaromir Jagr, $2.5m (2014-2017)

The breakdown goes like this:
Hoffman for Sedin
Reimer for Elliott
Jagr for a high Rd 2 pick & $3.2m in cap space :toast::win::win:

Lets keep going owners. Flames looking to deal.
Sens to confirm Thx DD!

Ottawa management accepts this trade with the Western Conference Calgary Flames. We take on more cap but acquire a younger talent in Hoffman who will also be a source for cap savings as we will declare him a Franchise Player for Ottawa. Reimer's large contract is a calculated gamble as we believe he will share a few more starts. While he is essentially on par with Brian Elliott, we feel he has better potential in the near future.

Ottawa Thanks our Calgary counterpart for the amicable trade discussions.

Too bad we could do anything to move Wideman. He's best suited to play in Calgary and get a hometown discount because of his age and slower scoring pace.

Has not been a good year for either, which is surprising.

:iatp: Good to see the teams below .500 trying to right the ship in their seasons. I think Ottawa is getting a solid return. Calgary taking on more risk with Henrik Sedin who's older and Elliott who is waiting to string a few Ws together and an unknown player to be draft in 2017.
